Let’s make it clear this is overpriced, and I wish the springs had better quality. But this is the best teaching tool in the market for civil Eng.

We purchased these for use in academic settings on a small shake table we have. But even without the shake table they are amazing.

I'm a big geek and love all things civil engineering and also love LEGO and building things. These are totally up my alley. I've admired tools like these for years and when I had a chance to get one of my own, I jumped at it. The set comes with a decent starter assortment of parts and pieces to construct functional infrastructure. I was able to build a little suspension bridge and compare that against a truss bridge I later built. The magnets hold fast and don't feel like they'll slip at all. These are a great teaching tool for younger wannabe engineers. Also a great way to keep idle hands busy during seemingly eternal conference calls for work. I just wish they didn't cost quite so much. While what you get is well built and feels and looks nice, the pricing is just a bit higher than most would be comfortable spending. I would love to own 10X what I have now but it's just not near fitting in my budget.

A bit different than your typical Lego set. Has a magnetic construction and is a bit more "science" based than Legos. You are constructing a basic structure and testing angles and bearing, more in the style of a science experiment than usual building. In Lego, instructions are emphasized to build a certain model, but with this set, greater exploratory thinking was involved.

Nice product and SUPER fast international delivery via amazon. Could benefit from being a tad more affordable, either reduced price or slightly more elements (joints/ some slightly stiffer springs). Would buy again and or another kit, very useful educational and inspiring tool.
