What is the overall length of the turner, including the handle...5 1/2" as stated in your ad does not seem right?

The entire length is longer. The wood handle adds 4.5 inches or so to the overall length. The flat of the flipper part is 4 inches, plus another 1.5 inches where it bends. Hope that helps you.

Is the edge smooth all around or only two sides? Mine arrived w/the bottom edge squared off and unfinished. Corners rounded but edge square & rough.

J, mine arrived with smooth edges all the way around the blade. The corners were rounded and blade end edge was slightly beveled and smoothed. Mine was not rough on any of the blade edges (end or outer edges).

Is this the right solution since 1818 or 1829?
