I bought this product months ago and use it every day for work and it still looks and works like brand new.

Great quality and price

The housing is made of very rugged plastic; big enough not to be flimsy, but still small enough that it would lay comfortably against your belt or shoulder strap and not be in the way. The carabiner should serve well attaching to your clothing/backpack/etc for the maximum working weight that can be applied to the retractor (read on to see the weight/resistance this can take). In other words, the retractor would fail long before the carabiner. I love that there are 2 options (keyring and hook) for attaching items to the unit. The keyring is for more permanent items because it takes effort to get them on and off while the hook has a clasp that will hold things secure but makes it easy to take them on and off. The retractable cord is coated which makes if smoother than metal and less dangerous if it were to retract against your hand/finger/skin. The spring in the retractor has plenty of strong pull to snap the items back in place after you've finished using them. Highly recommend as long as you don't plan to exceed it's working load capacity (see below).**I tested it's resistance using a stainless still water bottle that I would fill with water and note the weight of the bottle + water.**To get the mechanism moving, it took right at 1 pound of force applied to it. It would start moving with just one pound but then stop after just a couple of inches of unspooling. When I got to about 1 pound 6 ozs then the weight would pull the cord all the way out and it couldn't retract itself.

I had a holder like this that broke almost a year ago, and I have tried to do with it for a year, and have really missed it. The ability to pull the badge away from my body to a card reader is very convenient. The weak link to most holders like this is the string that attaches the clip to the body of the mechanism. On this one, the string is coated with a plastic of some sort, which should help it last much longer than an uncoated string. The belt is substantial, and the retracting mechanism seems to work great. This holder came with two ways to attach a badge… via a round “key-ring” or via a clip. The clip is definitely on the lightweight side. It’s plenty to hold onto a badge securely, but if you get your badge caught in some or pulled unexpectedly, I could see it coming loose. But since you have multiple options, I cannot find that a reason to not use this. I am already using this at work, and I am glad to have it!

Not much to cover here, but this is a nice badge holder especially if you like the aesthetic.It is nice and light and the reel has a proper tension for a card and a couple of keys. It doesn’t have an insane amount tension where you worry if you lost your grip on your card fully extended whether or not you might cry if it hit you in the face upon retractation!The texture, side reliefs, and print of the body feel great in the hand if for some reason you needed to use it without a lanyard.The build quality is nice and the clips do their job well without adding too much weight. The reel looks better in person than it does in the stock photos. For some reason theirs is really shiny whereas the one I received was perfectly matte, which is really nice.Overall, very nice and used as the go to daily option.
