Was looking for waxed cotton like I used to use for aircraft wiring harnesses but had to settle for waxed polyester. Ends tended to fray after cutting but a heat gun took care of that

This has worked fantastic for restringing a wind chime. I was able to thread the rope through holes in the pipes and wooden frame without needing a needle. Wax came off the string as I worked it, but it cleaned up fine.

Years ago, I had a roll of flat lacing cord similar to this. It was used for dressing cable and harness assemblies in manufacturing. At home, I used it for everything I needed strong string for, but it finally ran out. This was a replacement for that old roll of string. This string, more like small, strong, twine, is round, not flat like my old roll of lacing twine, but that makes it even better for my multipurpose uses. It is extremely strong. I'll never be without a roll again.

I don't know what happened but it went from ok to garage in 2 shipments it has almost no wax knots wont hold. This is 2 shipments in a row. If anyone know where to get some good cord let me know.

Using the waxing tape in leu of zip ties for aircraft harness management. This is a superior solution as the lacing cord doesn’t slip and likewise doesn’t abrade the wiring.Took a little practice to make hitch knots, and slower than zip ties, but really worth the extra time. And Unlike zip ties, you will always have a tie that is long enough.
