Not for a shower
It was easy to install. It warms the water, but not hot. Not ideal for a shower, I just takes off the coolness of my shower water and I am in florida

I have a dishwasher at the end of a long run from the hot water tank. It doesn't use a lot of water - not enough to draw hot water from the tank. The instructions say to run the nearby faucet before starting to ensure hot water. But there is also the delayed start capability so you aren't around while it runs. Anyway this GE Tankless Water Heater looked like a solution. Unfortunately I ran into an unanticipated wire routing problem adding the circuit to the breaker box. It's going to be a significant rework and it will be some time before I tackle it.

The Design isn't well thought out
Ordered this to replace a 15 year old unit. Upon receiving the unit it looked as though it had been unboxed before. However, all necessary parts were there. The first thing, it must have the electrical ran through the face. In order to do this you must leave extra slack. Here in lies the issue, they leave you no room for extra storage of wire inside the unit. Once the unit was initially installed, it only got warm at full power. It never did get hot. Even with 1 shower/faucet running. It did work fine except for that and it could've been my fault for under sizing the unit I bought. Returned the unit for a Rheem 27KW and it has been wonderful. This seemed to be more like a point of source heater rather than Whole home heater. This may be ok for a tiny home or 1 br apt but think twice before purchasing for a home with multiple taps.

Great feature, make sure your electric panel can handle it
This is a great unit for supplying your house with a constant supply of hot water without having to store and heat a 40 or more gallon tank. The controls are easy to use and so far it has worked flawlessly. That said, unless you are a qualified electrician and plumber, this is NOT a do it yourself job, and there are outside costs involved. A new high amp power line has to be brought to the unit, and water pipes will need to be moved. Also, you need to make sure you have room in your electric panel for a new 40A circuit.Once those things are covered though, you will be saving money every month!

Warning! This is not a plug and play device.
It does not come with a cord. They expect you to wire it to your house not plug it in. It is 120v but it draws 29amps.

Nice unit and backed by the GE Brand
I originally installed another unit but left the wiring and plumbing in place and switched to the GE Tankless Water Heater a couple of weeks ago. It has enough flow to handle hot water for multiple showers or faucets at the same time. I've never had a problem with it not having enough hot water ready for use. I read that the unit is really energy-efficient using about 50% less energy than a traditional tank water heater, so I am hoping that helps keep my electricity bill down - which is absurd. We have Duke Energy in FL so the bills are insane. It is really easy to use with the ability to tweak the water settings digitally and thats about all you need.As for the install - hire a professional unless you are a homeowner who has done enough electrical for enough years that you can pull off working with 240v. It's not easy. Requires a 3x40amp breaker and for me about 150' of 8/2 wiring (that's 3 cable runs at 50') so figure you are looking at about another $400 in materials to install it yourself. It will also require clearing out 6 single contiguous breaker spots on your bus and a lot of wire pulling.Overall it saved me a ton of space and I hope drops the electric bill. Good luck!

Junk product!
Bought this product and got excited to get GE for the cheap price tag. Well you get what you pay for. While it did arrive 2 days earlier than estimated, it requires a specific 40 amp breaker that you can only special order. The wiring was incredibly difficult to install. Then, once we got all the parts we were waiting for and ready to have hot water again, the product didn’t even work. We called GE and did troubleshooting and they said that it was likely a bad/faulty water heater and that we should call immediately to get a replacement. It would click on and was hooked up correctly just doesn’t work. Returning this immediately to Amazon and went with a different brand all together.
