Review: Removes Moisture. Complains Less Than People - A dehumidifier has one job: remove water from the air. This one understands the assignment. It has been running in my 1,500-square-foot basement woodshop for the past nine months without complaint, drama, firmware updates, or a desire to connect to my phone. It quietly maintains a steady 50% relative humidity, which keeps my tools happy and my lumber from behaving like a politician's promises. In fact, I've even used it to dry lumber with nothing more than this unit and a fan. It worked. Because moving water out of wood is simply moving water out of the air with extra steps. My only complaint is surprisingly small. One of my old dehumidifiers had a little floating ball in the collection bucket that made it easy to tell how full it was at a glance. This one expects me to use my eyes and basic judgment like some sort of adult. Otherwise, it has been dependable, effective, and refreshingly boring. The highest compliment I can give a machine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice unit but humidity readout off

I’m dehumidifying my basement after water intrusion through my basement floor. Following a freak spring snow / rain storm northern Michigan style. Arrived quickly. It was a box inside a bigger box. The inside box said “this side up”. However hidden in a bigger box it arrived on its side. So I had to let it sit upright for a day to let the fluids settle. Glad I caught that need so as to not damage the unit. The price was good as an open package deal. Plugged it in fired it up seems to work well nice looking reasonably quiet unit. Not as big or heavy as my older unit. The drain hose for continuous operation is very chinsy but works. Seat it well and no leaks. A cheap short garden hose attachment would be a nice touch but I could do that cutting up an old hose. Only relative negative is the humidity readout. I’ve got a cheap hydrometer and my old dehumidifier both read low 50% range but this new unit is stuck about 65%. So don’t trust that reading until you pick up a cheap hydrometer ($10) to verify. Only fix for that is set your humidity target high to compensate. My actual target is 45% so I set the unit at 60% which should get me close. In my case if I didn’t do that and set the unit at a 45% target it would run a long time and be probably at 35% real humidity and that’s not what I want. So pay attention to your humidity setting and the readout versus what you really have. And have a box fan running to circulate your air. Good deal. UPDATE: unit seems to have fought hard to get down to 55% so I set the target to 50% see how it goes. My old 50 pint machine got down to 50% fairly easy. I have that and this new 120 pint machine running in opposing corners of my unfinished basement.
