Heavy Duty Stand
Very pleased with my hammock stand! I purchased two 4" X 4" X 8' and one 4" X 4" X 10' treated lumber. I used one 8' for the base and cut the other 8' in 1/2 for the base's two ends. Cut the10' in 1/2 for the two heights. I rounded up the ends, 1/4 rounded all the edges with my router to soften the design. For the installation of the screws I opted to predrill the wood with a smaller drill bit size to prevent the wood from splitting. Stained the wood black prior to assembly. The kit had all the hardware, all the screws and washers, and they even included the 10mm socket for your electric driver!

Direction do not give board dimensions
These brackets work great using 4x4 lumber. I had to guess on lengths of each piece. Ended up 6' on the wide base, 48" cross members on base, and 6' on the uprights. Worked fine for our 13' hammock.

Great hardware; terrible screws
Hardware is good and works well. Supplied screws were terrible. Replaced with good 3 inch construction screws and it is now great.

It can be BIG. Sturdy and easy to assemble
Some comparative height and length guidelines would have been helpful. Overall a good buy.

Easy to set up
I found the instructions to be adequate for this project however the tool to install the wood screws was an 8mm hex head and needed a 10 mm qhich I had to purchase separately.

Could be deigned better
The pre fab parts would be perfect only if the main horizontol attachment plate had taller sides so the lags would mount 1 1/2" up from the bottom of the spanning 4x4 instead of 1 1/2 down from the top. the 4x4 split under the weight pulling due to where the lags are grabbing.
