Review: great for travel anywhere - about the 5 stars for comfort and thickness: considering you’re buying a mat for travel that is 2mm thick, the comfort is what you’d expect. comfort in this category is about stickiness and LACK of thickness for travel and being the size and thickness of a laptop inside a protective case. anyway, this is not a mat for hot yoga of any kind as it would need a towel to not be slippery with a lot of sweat. that said, vinyasa flow outside a heated room is totally doable. and just add a towel if you like hot yoga on the go. i bought this for personal practice at work and traveling and doing yoga. i washed it with a mix of 50/50 white vinegar and water with a soft bristle brush and it has been great since. it is plenty sticky for poses like that. again, no major sweat or yoga outside in the rain. using for a relatively intense workout at a pace that keeps you from becoming dripping with sweat it works awesome! i use between clients or at lunch at work. i will wear a tank top and looser yoga pants and cover it all w a suit jacket and no one can tell i am ready for yoga underneath. then, at lunch or between clients, i can drop the mat in my office and get a solid workout just removing my jacket or even the shirt i might wear, too. i cool down then add my office clothing back on the top half of my body. for me, having a mat that allows that without a big tube sticking out of my bag all bulky is fantastic. the “sacrifices” i deal with to have this fit into a work bag or suitcase are WELL worth it to me. i can also use it in hot yoga/vinyasa flow just by bringing a towel. i am totally happy with my purchase and think this is a totally usable travel mat that is easily carried. it also folds in on itself so the bottom touching the floor esp in an office or hotel room is not being introduced to the top when you can’t clean it before putting it away. nice! the bottom folds to itself! again, less concern with dirt or whatever else also being exposed in your bag. for the low price point and convenience i would easily purchase again. if you are used to a high end mat and get super drippy sweaty then maybe this isn’t for you unless you bring a towel. however, being for travel and convenience it is fantastic in my opinion. gets lots of use! Review: Perfect for my needs! - I travel a lot for work and struggled to find comfortable ways to keep up with my practise. I would throw a number of hotel room towels in the ground but they just didn’t ever seem to work well enough to really do what I wanted to do. I had this mat in and out of my cart for over a month. A friend who also travels for work and he brought it to Saturday morning yoga during one of his rotations and seeing it in person got me excited and I pulled the trigger. It’s thin, compact, and allows me the comfort of being able to continue even whilst on the road. It folds so that the bottom of the mat folds on itself. I love it and like other reviewers said, probably wouldn’t use it for hot yoga unless I added the use of a towel. If you’re looking for something thicker and more comfortable this isn’t it. If you’re looking for compact and easy to take on the road and not have to be on a hotel room floor, then don’t hesitate longer than necessary! I travel with a 30L pack that includes this mat, climbing harness and chalk bag, and a pair of climbing shoes, as well as my clothes and toiletries for 3-5 days. ## Features - YOGA MAT FOR TRAVEL: This 2mm thick non toxic PVC yoga mat easily folds into a 10 inches x 12 inches square making it the ideal travel yoga mat - FITS IN CARRY ON BAG: This foldable yoga mat easily fits in your carry on or overnight bag also a great alternative to a traditional rolled mat to save space - FOLDING YOGA MAT: Mat folds up nicely, making it perfect for weekend getaways, extended retreats or trips across town, in the park or on the beach - STICKY TEXTURE: Features a sticky texture that provide stable footing on the go - DIMENSIONS: 68"L x 24"W x 2mm Thick / Weight = 2lb ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B073WRCQQK | | Best Sellers Rank | #6,400 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #42 in Yoga Mats | | Brand | Gaiam | | Brand Name | Gaiam | | Color | Be Free | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 5,265 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00018713626721 | | Included Components | Yoga Mat | | Item Dimensions L x W x Thickness | 68"L x 24"W x 0.08"Th | | Item Highlight | Folds Flat for Travel | Ultra-Slim 2mm Profile | Non-Slip | Yoga, Pilates & Floor Workouts | Fits in Bag or Luggage | | Item Type Name | Yoga Mat | | Item Weight | 2 pounds | | Manufacturer | Fit For Life | | Material | Polyvinyl Chloride | | Model Number | 05-62672 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | 05-62672 | | Product Care Instructions | Spot clean with our Yoga Mat Wash or damp cloth with cold water and mild detergent. (Size when folded)?** A: If you're looking for this to be your 'stays in my carry on' mat - it is kind of big compared to other travel mats. It folds down great, but it's a thicker mat that I find to be overkill for hotel room yoga (I'm very happy I have it if I get time to hit a studio when on the road though). I use an international size carry on and this mat takes up about 1/4 of my suitcase. **Q: Is this a good mat to put on top of a studio's mat for added thickness?** A: It is probably not going to add much thickness. I purchased it because it is extremely lightweight and portable for frequent air travel. It is slightly tacky, so good if you sweat, but it doesn’t provide a lot of cushion. **Q: how much does it weigh?** A: The description says 1.8 lbs. It seems about that light. Much less and a high end yoga mat for sure. Folds to size of a laptop. **Q: Has anyone used this outdoors? I want to use for yoga in the park but worried it will be too thin.** A: I used it outdoors for goat yoga inland grass, and it was fine for me. Also...very easy to clean with..ahem...harsher cleaning chemicals when nature called the goats... ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great for travel anywhere *by N***E on September 9, 2020* about the 5 stars for comfort and thickness: considering you’re buying a mat for travel that is 2mm thick, the comfort is what you’d expect. comfort in this category is about stickiness and LACK of thickness for travel and being the size and thickness of a laptop inside a protective case. anyway, this is not a mat for hot yoga of any kind as it would need a towel to not be slippery with a lot of sweat. that said, vinyasa flow outside a heated room is totally doable. and just add a towel if you like hot yoga on the go. i bought this for personal practice at work and traveling and doing yoga. i washed it with a mix of 50/50 white vinegar and water with a soft bristle brush and it has been great since. it is plenty sticky for poses like that. again, no major sweat or yoga outside in the rain. using for a relatively intense workout at a pace that keeps you from becoming dripping with sweat it works awesome! i use between clients or at lunch at work. i will wear a tank top and looser yoga pants and cover it all w a suit jacket and no one can tell i am ready for yoga underneath. then, at lunch or between clients, i can drop the mat in my office and get a solid workout just removing my jacket or even the shirt i might wear, too. i cool down then add my office clothing back on the top half of my body. for me, having a mat that allows that without a big tube sticking out of my bag all bulky is fantastic. the “sacrifices” i deal with to have this fit into a work bag or suitcase are WELL worth it to me. i can also use it in hot yoga/vinyasa flow just by bringing a towel. i am totally happy with my purchase and think this is a totally usable travel mat that is easily carried. it also folds in on itself so the bottom touching the floor esp in an office or hotel room is not being introduced to the top when you can’t clean it before putting it away. nice! the bottom folds to itself! again, less concern with dirt or whatever else also being exposed in your bag. for the low price point and convenience i would easily purchase again. if you are used to a high end mat and get super drippy sweaty then maybe this isn’t for you unless you bring a towel. however, being for travel and convenience it is fantastic in my opinion. gets lots of use! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my needs! *by E***T on April 5, 2024* I travel a lot for work and struggled to find comfortable ways to keep up with my practise. The length is similar to my regular mat thankfully but it’s significantly narrower which is not a problem for me. I had no limitation to my practice as a result, and of course that helps with keeping it more compact for packing. It’s not very lightweight, but lighter than an ordinary mat and with the creases for folding it’s in a good size and shape for fitting in a suitcase. I had no problems with hand or feel slippage, and it did not creep even though on a carpeted floor. It think it would perform even better on a wood floor. It’s quite thin but more substantial feeling than a yoga towel, and I prefer thinner mats anyway. However, on a surface less giving than carpet or wood I’d imagine it could be uncomfortable. That said, wherever you travel there’s likely to be a pillow or small blanket available to cushion knees and such, so it think it’s a problem easily overcome. There’s a slight odor that I anticipate will go away pretty quickly. I ordered the blue and am very happy with the color and design. I look forward to breaking it in more while on my trip and think it will be more than satisfactory for travel. ## Frequently Bought Together - Gaiam Yoga Mat - Folding Travel Fitness & Exercise Mat - Foldable Yoga Mat for All Types of Yoga, Pilates & Floor Workouts (68"L x 24"W x 2mm Thick) - Gaiam Yoga Block - Supportive Latex-Free Eva Foam - Soft Non-Slip Surface with Beveled Edges for Yoga, Pilates, Meditation - Yoga Accessories for Stability, Balance, Deepen Stretches - Gaiam Yoga Knee Pads (Set of 2) - Yoga Props and Accessories for Women/Men Cushions Knees and Elbows for Fitness, Travel, Meditation, Kneeling, Balance, Floor, Pilates --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/47103412-folding-yoga-travel-mat-2mm-foldable-and-lightweight](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/47103412-folding-yoga-travel-mat-2mm-foldable-and-lightweight) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
