Looks great, sounds great, easy set-up
Very pleased with this purchase, especially at the price. Great value for this quality. Replaced my Onkyo 7.1 channel receiver with this (it died after a good 10 yr run). What a difference!! Sound is really good. I have it paired with a Sony Bravia X90K TV, TIVO Roamio Pro, and a Roku. Set up was straightforward, no compatibility issues. Occasionally the components will get out of synch and you need to reset the sound bar (remove from power) to get them back in synch. I suspect that this is due to the eARC and possibly the remote control set-ups. It happens so seldom that I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out, it's not really a problem for me. This setup doesn't work well with my Harmony Hub remote. Again I think it's eARC related, possibly due to how I set it up. I did spend a fair amount of time trying to get this to work (well), and while it did work, the programming was wonky and it tended to get out of synch quite a lot so I gave up and don't use the Harmony. Not a problem for me because I use the TV, TIVO, or Roku remotes to control everything (usually just need the Sony TV remote except for a few TIVO functions that it doesn't do well). One thing I didn't realize until I installed it, which isn't an issue for me but could be for some people, is that while the remote speakers and subwoofer are not wired into the soundbar, the satellites plug into the subwoofer (which is wireless but needs to be plugged into power). The satellites come with included wires which should be plenty long for most rooms, but depending on where you need to plug the subwoofer into power and where you want to place your satellites (eg high on a wall), this could be an issue. My room has power behind the couch which is where I placed the subwoofer, with the satellites on either end of the couch on speaker stands. This setup works well in our room (I used these stands: https://www.amazon.com/Sanus-Adjustable-Height-Speaker-Stand/dp/B002HZHUCW/ref=asc_df_B002HZHUCW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198081480945&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14093473603307508778&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011507&hvtargid=pla-348877864499&psc=1) One more item. At first the height speakers were not working. They are supposed to pop out of the sides of the bar and rotate to bounce the sound off the ceiling when playing appropriate content. Mine wouldn't do that. Turns out it was my HDMI cable (Initially I didn't use the one that came with soundbar - stupid!). Needs an HDMI 2.x cable, which apparently mine wasn't. After I replaced it with the supplied HDMI 2.1 cable it works great. Not all content uses the height channels, but when it's there it's pretty cool.

Oh and WOW!
Okay.....so as I usually do, I spent days researching and doing my due diligence to find a surround sound system to upgrade from my older Samsung surround system. I'm a tech nut, and won't purchase anything without doing much research. So after all was said and done, I landed on this Vizio M-Series Elevate. And I couldn't be happier if I tried! The system speakers paired almost instantly, and I recommend setting up the rear speakers and subwoofer first......getting them hooked up and powered up before finally getting to the sound bar and TV. Within just a minute or two the entire system was up and running. Then its just a matter of learning the remote and how you like your particular sound set up. The elevate speakers on the sides of the sound bar are absolutely fantastic! Yes.....they light up for an added effect, and that just kind of tops things off. Although I'm not looking for a lighting system, this is just as added bonus. I was leery of the 8" subwoofer, since my Samsung had a 12 inch woofer, and its a down-firing speaker also, and I was concerned about that as well. But fear not, for you folks who might be thinking the same thing. My test movie was one of the new Star Trek movies.....knowing that would have all the sounds and effects to make for a proper test. I thought I was in an IMAX theater!! And I'm not exaggerating either. I want to offer as truthful a review as I can......that was not the only movie I used for a test and everything that followed was just as thrilling. As for regular TV programming, it changes the game entirely. My regular TV shows take in a whole new meaning! The "Dialogue" feature on the remote actually does what it says it does, and brings up the dialogue for not only regular TV shows, but also in movies as well. I played a Transformers movie, and at one point the dialogue was harder to hear and bringing that up definitely helped. If I had one point I don't actually care for, and of course it just my opinion.....but the sound bar as very bright LED's that indicate levels up and down. So if you're increasing say, volume or decreasing speaker volume in the back or front, it indicates using these bright LED's, and I suppose my preference would be the old way using numbers to denote higher and lower, or up and down. Although while I say that.....I've already gotten used to the bright LED's and finding I'm liking them. Lastly.....though I could go on and on, the remote programming is relatively easy to learn. I went online, or had to since it only came with a quick set-up guide. But even using that, I found that it was quite easy to learn the various functions offered through the remote. And there are quite a few thing it'll do, but once I had the overall setup the way I wanted it for movies and regular TV, there's really nothing else to do. I'll change a few things here and there depending on what I'm watching, but once its set, its pretty much set and that's a huge plus for me! I highly recommend this product.....it has all the features I wanted and then some. And the price was right in the range I had set for myself, and I have zero complaints on the price, especially for the value I'm getting! I've also purchased stands for my rear speakers. I always had my others on a credenza behind our couch just sitting there. These speakers deserve to have stands, and I have no doubt it will increase my listening pleasure. Oh yeah.....by the way for you ladies out there. My wife of course loves the new system, but her first complaint was the fabric covering the sound bar and speakers. While they look really great and fancy with the fabric.....she said I'll have a tough time dusting them when it comes time to dust!! That's okay though since I do most of the dusting anyway! HAH!

Nice, clean and powerful
Pros: The looks: the Soundbar looks fantastic and sleek. The subwoofer is wireless, which helps with the aesthetic aspect. The surround speakers also look great, specially when installed on the wall. Audio: obviously the audio is the main thing, i'm not a audiophile but I am totally satisfied with the product, it works exactly as I expected when I bought it. The subwoofer is powerful, the Soundbar has clean fantastic sound, even when I turn it down I don't miss anything. The surround speakers really do the job, it does a great job for immersion, for both movies and games. Note: The audio is very dependent on the source, if the source of the audio is not surround, 5.1, dolby atmos etc, don't expect this to work wonders. Note#2: I did some research and everywhere I looked they recommended using HDMI ARC/EARC to get the best out of this soundbar. Smart TVs Samsung/LG and many others have ARC/EARC, which has the most bandwidth so look for the HDMI ports on your TV, you should really use this connection. Physical setup: this is really quite easy, everything you need is in the box, a small book detailing all the physical setup comes in the box. You only need the screwdrivers, if you plan on wall mounting anything, you will need the wall anchors and screws that fit to your wall. But the wall mounting supports are included for the soundbar and the small surround speakers. Accesories: as I said (almost)everything your need is in the box. I especially appreciate that they include a high bandwidth HDMI cable that works with ARC/EARC with zero problems. Cons: Upward firing speakers: these speakers don't really do the job, they work by "bouncing" the sound to your ceiling, which depending on the material might actually absorb the sound. They totally rely on the content being played, not much content will have any use for these speakers so I wouldn't expect much sound really that comes from above. Audio setup: this is apart from the physical setup, this is the configuration that you have to do on your TV and soundbar to get them to work. This is not plug and play, you have to go through all the options on both the sound bar and your TV. A manual comes in the box, but it is really really unclear, as to all the setup options. A QR code comes that should send you to a web page that explains everything, said web page is nothing of the sort, it links to the product page that lists the product features, basically the same as the amazon product page. As I said before I'm not an audiophile, and this was the first soundbar I have ever purchased, so it took a couple(5) of youtube tutorials to get this working like I needed it to. Even after the youtube tutorials, the final piece of the puzzle had to come from Vizio's own support, my rear surround speakers were not working as expected, I went into a chat with support and they did pinpoint my issue in about 3-4 questions, I had to choose a 2 specific options on my TV to get them working. I will give recognition to Vizio chat support, or at least my agent, they really knew what to ask to get straight to the issue. I'm giving 5 stars because evertything works just like I expected, the immersion is fantastic, and I have even got a few praises for this setup.

Very pleased with the main soundbar - struggled with the corded surround speakers
I am absolutely impressed with the excellent sound and functions of this Elevate system - my expectations for the Dolby Atmos playback are far exceeded as I was worried that it may not work properly passing the audio through a $300 65 inch Onn 4k TV - however it works flawlessly and automatically with the Dolby Atmos content being streamed on Apple TV, Netflix and Prime Video so far. The remote functions took a little while to understand but they are in fact very simple to use. I really could not be more pleased even with just surround sound broadcasts especially NFL games that sound like you are in a stadium seat - it’s that good. The only negative I encountered was the insufficient length of speaker cord that connects the rear speakers - you have to have a good place for the subwoofer which will allow you reach both sides of the rear of a room - in my case I was way short on having enough length for the right rear speaker because I wanted the subwoofer up front next to the TV table - I purchased the Sanus speaker stands to place behind the couch on one side and behind a theater style double seat on the right rear side - no luck - I am an old speaker wire splicer so I had to decide to cut the very small diameter cord and splice in about 25 more feet of wire which I did and after achieving this the whole setup looked like something in a college dorm room - awful because I used wire clips to run up the left wall across the ceiling and down to the right rear speaker on the opposite wall - it detracted from the whole look of the room so I took it all down after less than a day of wasting my time splicing and taping etc - the end result is that I am not able to use the new surround speakers and stands and was fortunate to have 2 Onkyo surround speakers from a previous AVR setup still mounted up high on the rear ceiling so I spliced into those which eliminated the Vizio speaker wire problem altogether and honestly the Vizio rears are probably not as good as the Onkyos - now I have a near perfect setup that sounds fantastic and I feel good about this purchase again - I highly recommend buying it - just have a backup plan for the rear surrounds because the wires may not reach - and the included wires are nothing more than very thin RCA wires and RCA plugs that connect to the subwoofer - if they were wireless this system could not be beat on how great it sounds

This is a good sound bar.
When i first got it I wasn’t wowed. It sounded good but it was just ok. After I messed around with the levels, bass and treble it and specific speakers it made a huge difference. Atmos is ok. Definitely makes a nice sound difference. The sub adds a nice bass not too heavy and not earthshaking but still good. Set up was super easy. Took me less time to set it up than take it out of the box lol. The surrounds are good are better in wide and fire more than in atmos (at least so far) this sound bar is great for a good size space i have a 16 x 20 foot room and it’s plenty loud. It’s good with music if you turn the surround to mirror the front side speakers - instead of just “on” so far so good. I can hear the guitar plucks and the instrumentation well. It handles bass pretty good makes music rich. I say get one of you have the money to spend on it - I am happy I got it, if you want a fast set up and minimal sound adjustment this is your sound bar. I like that it doesn’t have a full display because I watch my movies in a darker environment - I have a 65” Hisense u8g and it i can control the volume through the tv but that’s it. I really like this soundbar. Vocals have good clarity and once the surround booms in it rounds everything out wonderfully. It scared me a couple times it boomed in so loud and nicely lol. No latency probs so far and no connectivity issues - I’ll update after I’ve had it for some months. So far so good worth the money.

Buy this now! Well worth it!
I bought the 5.1.2 option just over 2 months ago and it has not only met, but exceeded my expectations. My old surround sound system died a few years ago and I finally decided it was time to get something new. After shopping around and comparing, this system had everything I wanted (plus a little more) for a price that couldn’t be beat! Setup was relatively easy and all the settings are adjusted using the remote. Your media device (blu-ray, game console, etc.) plugs into the soundbar & the soundbar plugs into the tv. The satellite speakers plug into the subwoofer which connects wirelessly to the soundbar via bluetooth. My only complaint is that there is only 1 HDMI In port. Since almost everything nowadays only connects using HDMI, the soundbar can only be used on 1 device. Luckily, I had an 4-way HDMI switch allowing me to run my cable box, XBox, Blu-Ray player and PS4 through the system. The sound is awesome! My brother & a friend were over the day after I set it up so I did a little demo to get their opinion also. Picked a random movie on Netflix then fast forwarded until one of them said stop. We then played the movie using only the TV speakers and it was… normal. We then rewatched the same scene using the soundbar system and all agreed it was 100x better! Crisp highs. Thunderous and rumbling bass. But the best part, we could actually hear what the actors were saying in every scene. Thanks to the Dialog setting, you can adjust the volume of what’s being said so it isn’t drowned out by the background music and/r sound effects. This alone is worth it, in my opinion. In conclusion, I am extremely pleased with how this performs and have actually recommended it several people I know who are looking to upgrade. 5 stars. 2 thumbs up. 10 out of 10.

Very happy for the price
Edit 2: Due to the issues in my last edit, a long with new issues of the rear left speaker cutting out and the rear right speaker volume being much lower than the left (with no way to adjust it) I am returning this overpriced garbage. Avoid this thing like the plague. I wanted to like it so much, and when it worked it was great, but the amount of issues I have had in one week of owning it is excessive considering the price tag. Edit: have to amend my review from below and lower the rating from 5 stars to 3. After one day of use the bar has started having an issue in which the audio seems to randomly cut out. It seems to be happening on multi codecs and is seemingly random. Watched an entire movie with no issue, but then turned on TV after and had the audio cutting out every few minutes for 2-3 seconds each time. Updated the firmware to the newest available, and the issue persists. I think this is unacceptable given the cost of the setup and will be returning it if I cannot find a solution Sound bar works great and looks great as well. The audio quality on it is amazing, no noticable delay and deep bass that vibrates the couch and house. Setup was extremely easy. Have only had a couple minor hiccups with the functionality, but not enough to be considered an issue, and is probably mainly due to user error and we're quickly resolved anyway. I was a bit overwhelmed when looking for a sound bar as all the mid range bars like this one have negative comments and people reporting issues, but I can safely say I'm happy with this purchase.

The Perfect Sound Bar!
My 1St soundbar was a 95 dollar Vizio from Costco. Perfect but wanted more. After spending 2000 on a top Sony 7000 series ,which was absolutely the worst, muddyist piece of crap I have ever bot in my ENTIRE LIFE, I came back to the 500$ elevate with an actual remote. I cannot be happier. I have ,for the 1st time have tru atmos and crystal clear dialog along with an infinite amount of adjustability which is a huge turn on for audiophiles. Will this be a Bowers Wilkens setup with 9 spkrs and 300 watt amp , no . IMHO, who cares. I had all that and never cud here dialogue and I realize that most of dialogue problems are from all TV shows and also commercials being sped up exponentially so they can squeeze more ads in. Don't believe it? Try repeating the dialog back at the same speed as it is spoken! Impossible. Best 500 ever spent and its a beautiful piece of equiptment as well that fits in perfectly.
