Mune: Guardian of the Moon [DVD]

I think this is a really good animated movie. I think it is something the whole family can watch and enjoy. I loved the story line. It was about making things right. It was about egos and pride and overcoming them.

Absolutely an underrated movie!!! This movie is so wonderful I've watched it countless times as an adult. It's so beautiful and different from the same cartoon movies today. I highly recommend it! Seriously watch it now!

*Spoiler's Ahead*It goes without saying that a lot of films with this dynamic start off the same way. Both Characters have been training to take over since they could walk. One usually big, strong and arrogant where as the other always looks a little sinister. Usually tall and thin.Anyway, they definitely hit all the boxes with the whole love story thing. How Mune finally comes into his own role, first after causing everything to fall into chaos and letting evil reign for a while. The big guy of course trying to impress the girl by "saving" day. Then by the end both guardians actually do become best of buds. I do love the personality of Glim. Yes, she botted her eyes and blushed at Sohone, at first, but then she saw what a dufus the guy was. But a good dufus by the end.I think what impacted me the most was the ending. Both guardians go about their roles, restoring their mantels to their rightful places in the sky. The scene where Mune is guiding the temple. Oh, the look on his face. "Yup, I'm the guardian of the moon. No one to share the great victory or this awesome role I have... Wait, what's that?"I won't lie. I definitely jumped into the air like a little kid and "whoohooed" when they finally kissed. My wife just giggled at the whole spectacle. Hope this review helps.

Such a cute movie worth watching!

This had some of the most unique character designs I've seen in animation in probably a good 15 years or more. Absolutely phenomenal world design, too! This is the kind of world i could read countless books about and never grow tired of it. I want to know the lore behind it all!The movie itself is cute. I would have watched this on repeat as a kid, I can tell that much. It's very simple and to the point. There's humor for kids and adults. Sure, the story is maybe oversimplified, but young kids eat that up.My only real complaints were the lip syncing of the animation didn't quite work out in some scenes, and other scenes felt kind of like they didn't know what they were doing from a storyboard standpoint. Otherwise? Beautiful and great. I'd watch more about the adventures of these guys!

Wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be a really great movie!!!

I bought this some time ago for my then 2 year old and it's been her favourite film since (now 6). The story is told from the point of view of Mune, a fawn like creature, who regularly goofs off being accidentally (maybe) being made the guardian of the moon (which is towed around the earth by a living temple creature and the sun in a similar fashion on a separate one). The sun ends up being stolen and the film centres on 3 characters teaming up to retrieve it. Although the fantasy world doesn't make a whole heap of sense, in that typically French way, it's simplistic but compelling enough to just follow the characters on their quest. A very hidden gem that more modern films would do well to emulate. Absolutely worth adding to your collection right now!

Nous avons découvert ce film à Ciné-Cadeau durant la dernière période des Fêtes. J’ai dû l’acheter afin qu’il soit dans notre bibliothèque afin de pouvoir l’écouter à nouveau. Belle histoire, beaux personnages, belles imageries et couleurs. C’est simplement magnifique !

I hate real life, it takes the fun out of living. I bought this a while ago and lost it. then found it last night It is better than I thought it would be. The animation is amazing and tells a beautiful story. I'll be watching this a few more times. :D

Film passé inaperçu, très dommage car c’est un film envoûtant , qui véhicule de belle valeur. Il est beaucoup mieux que bien des films à gros budget Tripple A. Je le conseil sans hésitation, pour les plus petits et pour les plus grands.
