Great must have product for electronics repairs
Got this pump after my cheap one burst pump gave up 9 months after getting it. I tested redoing a board on a Marantz receiver replacing over 20 components in less than an hour, it would have taken me a full day to do the same job with the other pump or even worse with a manual mechanical sucker. It works amazingly well allowing me to set the temperature to melt solder without damaging the board. It has ample power to suck all the solder in one or two press of the trigger. Sleep mode works flawlessly and heats back up in 20-30 sec with the push of the up (temp) button. Cleaning the plastic cylinder is easy and reassembles quickly. Couldn't be happier. I recommend seller and product. Shipping was less than 24 hr with Amazon Prime.

Saves a ton of time.
I purchased this to help with capacitor removal on game consoles that I restore. It has been great. I have used it a great deal and haven't had to clean it yet. Some reviewers have said they had issues if they do not clean them after each use. I haven't found this to be true in my case. I use mine on 380C and have had no issues. The only thing that stumped me was when I first got it I didn't realize that you had to give it time to melt the solder inside the nozzle.

This product has a fatal flaw
I set this product up and began using it. It worked great for the first couple minutes, but the suction started getting weaker and weaker, and eventually stopped working. I looked inside, and there was a big blob of solder stuck in the end of the tube that goes through the element. The metal tube has such poor thermal contact with the element that the solder stayed solid even after leaving the element at maximum temperature for several minutes. In fact, it was so cold I could touch the back of the tube without getting burned.Don't buy this product. It's not worth a quarter of its price.

Product does not generate enough heat to melt solder
I had to return product twice. First one did not generate suction. Second one will not produce enough heat to melt solder. Basically, not a good option for those needing a desoldering station.Look elsewhere.

It's good, if you get a good one
First unit i received, it was blowing air thru the gun, not sucking. Didn't have any apparent damage, maybe one-off thing. Received second unit, this one works well. Heating relatively fast, big mass to heat up. I tested the vacuum pump with a gauge, it's on par with some reviews online for similar machines, will get to 24-25hg. It does loose bit vacuum at the tip (22-23hg), but expected. The gun, light weight, plastic not great quality, and the "glass" tube, it's not glass. Solder will stick to the plastic and pit the surface. After cleaning, make sure you have the "glass" and the silicone gaskets perfectly aligned. The way system designed, very simple for the gaskets to cover the hole or have leaks. They tried to copy the Hakko but did poor job of it. It's the one part of the kit that they should invested a few more dollars and improve it. Fan on this one, not loud but not quiet either. Vacuum pump noisy, but as long it sucks well, i'm good with it. Having few more tips and filters included would have been nice, not easy to get. overall, it sucks :)
