Solid harness!
Absolutely love ruffwear! The quality of that brand is incredible. I know it’s pricey but I believe it’s totally worth it. We use this harness everyday (twice a day). We have been using it for months now. There’s zero signs of wear and tear and it looks brand new (when washed :P). It’s holds the dogs safely and seems to be real comfortable for them. The reflective parts work well at night, often bits like that come off harnesses but not this one! There a little bit at the end that’s just perfect to attach night light as well, so my dogs are super visible when we walk them at night. One of the best parts in this harnes is the handle. We have a blind dog that often gets himself in trouble rolling down hills, falling into rivers or bushes, it’s so handy to be able to pick him up and move back to the path. We constantly do it and the harness holds all his weight, incredible! This harness doesn’t come lose and there’s no way the dog can wriggle out of it, one of our dogs is absolute master in getting out of the car harness even though it’s sleepy pod and it should be impossible, however he has no chance with this harness.I would definitely recommend it, 100%. It is pricey but it will last you a lifetime.Update after 2years: we use this harness all the time, sometimes full days trips, holidays, climbing trips, etc. There’s zero damage to those harnesses, barely any wear visible. Absolutely worth the money. We will be buying a 3rd one for our new dog too.

A God sent for my aging canine friend
My aging beloved best friend is now unsteady most of the time, and also almost blind. The ice/wet mud compound this and the risks are increased . To help his confidence and protect him from injury I brought this. Measured him following the guildlines -he came up as medium - since hey usually L or XL in anything we've brought I was unsure . Still I stuck to guidelines and anticipated it would be too tight/small. I was wrong. It fits beautifully and for an old sensitive dog he isn't bothered it's on at all, infact I think he's realised it keeps him safe. So Delighted with the fit and that it's allowed me to assist him when I need too. Just take the handle and steady him up . It is so well made and I choose the blue which looks stunning on him. I know you could likely buy something cheaper but in my opinion this harness is well designed, brilliantly made, stunning colour and does so much to help both my dog and I. I hate seeing him decline and this is a god sent worth every penny. I did also buy the bush guard to slide underneath but it didn't work out for us really not needed. Anyhow top marks from me and my boy. Thank you Ruff Wear !

Perfect for our escapist!
I can't praise this product enough! We have two Westies, one of which as a puppy seemed to find a way out of any harness, but not this one! It's really escape-proof!The added bonuses are that it's comfortable for them to wear (no hint of discomfort or any signs of soreness where the straps make contact with the body), they last really well and the handle is a great safety feature which allows for easy picking up of smaller dogs (perfect for our grumpy girl) and means if you're into hiking up mountains (or generally in a position where there's a risk you might need saving) the harness can be used to air-lift your dog to safety. We've had one of these harnesses for about four years now and when washed still looks pretty much as new.Just an added note about sizes. We have two Westies, a boy and girl, and at 9kgs the XS fits well, but there's not much adjustment left. It's perfect for this sized of dog though as it has grown with them from puppy to adult and gives a friendly reminder if the kids are putting on a little weight.

Good quality harness
Good quality harness; fits perfect and appears to be, so far, very secure and escape-proof. Got one for my pup as she sometimes gets spooked and has a tendency to back away or even buck, which is pretty dangerous (and terrifying) on a busy road wearing just a collar or even a standard harness. This harness allows for easy control and prevents the chance of her slipping out of her collar, and, I would imagine, eliminate any injury or discomfort when she does panic against the collar. The downside of this product is the price. But if it lasts years then it will be well worth it. My pup could have just fit the XS but I instead bought the S to allow room to grow (she's only 7 months) - so, in theory, this harness should last a long time. Fits her great (as you can see by the pic) and the padded strap things allow you to neatly slide the loose straps inside them so they're not flapping around or being chewed on.

Mix of good and bad. Standard lead clip can disengage.
The media could not be loaded. I am still not 100% sure the harness is correctly adjusted as it does tend to pull to one side or the other slightly on a walk, however it does seem snug enough without causing my dog distress. I have still not decided whether it is better she puts her leg in the loop before I slide it over her head, or after it is on. The protective pads do slide around annoyingly and the loose ends of the straps fall out. They are fiddly to poke back in, and you need to do that at home because you will need a tool. On the plus side she has not managed to squirm out of the 3-point harness, like she did with the 2-pointer.The most concerning part is that the standard lead clip has come off the harness a couple of times now, which may be an unintended feature of the reinforced attachment clip. Both times this happened when there was slack in the lead. The dog then walked away and the clip just fell out. I believe I have managed to reproduce the effect - see video. I notice that Ruffwear’s own brand leads come with a carabiner as standard, although with no swivel attachment. I don’t see that working properly as the lead will just twist. However I haven’t seen any carabiners with a swivel either as I suppose that feature will always be the weak spot. This has stopped me from replacing the existing clip with a carabiner. In the meantime I am using the standard clip with a carabiner attached to the lead. Even that is not ideal as the clip can jam on the carabiner, which makes me worried I could end up snapping off the clip at the swivel.

A super Functional Harness
We have purchased different sizes of this harness at least a half dozen times over the years. All of them are still working fine, but my pup is nearly grown and isn't likely to change size and was a bit embarrassed to be wearing. this harness in red that had faded to pink. My other half suggested that the pup was tired of hand-me-downs and that I buck up and order her a new one. She looks very sporty, which fits, since she goes pretty much non stop. This harness is very adjustable but can take some time to get dialed in. If you have a long skinny dog you might need to cinch the straps fairly snugly to get a good fit (straps can then be cut or tucked into slots within the harness itself. When new the harness feels pretty stiff (as compared to the years old well worn in version). Be aware that it will likely start to get black marks from where the leash clips into the metal part of the harness. We use the corresponding Ruffwear leashes and the rubbing just creates black residue. This will not come out ... just be aware that your pristine harness will stay pristine for the duration of a few walks. The lifting handle is excellent and can be used to help lift dogs over obstacles or in/out of a car. When properly fit it is very hard for a dog to back out of this particular model of Ruffwear harness (I LOVE Ruffwear products but was recently gifted a different style harness and that one is VERY easy to back out of.). So ... if you're looking for something super durable (as in over a decade), functional and that your dog will unlikely be able to back out of this is the brand and model to buy.

Great for dogs with deep chests
I bought this after seeing another dog shaped like mine who was wearing one. The dog had a deep chest with a sharp tuck-up like my dog. My dog had slipped her previous harness several times just backing up when startled, and I was worried she would get loose and get hurt. This harness is perfect for her because there are two adjustable clasps to secure the harness--one to accommodate the deep chest and the other at the tiny part of their waist. This keeps the harness from sliding forward. There is also a protective component that keeps you from pinching their skin when closing the clasps. She has never slipped this harness. She also has a tiny head, so even regular collars tend to slip off. I have used this harness for years and it is in great shape--very durable. That being said, this harness was not as good for my lab whose belly and chest are a straight line. Also, it fastened a little too close to his wee wee (yes, I said wee wee), and he frequently peed on it. I used it anyway for 2 years and just switched him to a head collar.
