Product Description 30cm/12" Wok manufactured from Professional Heavy Gauge 1.8mm Carbon Steel which is the ideal material for Woks as it can withstand very high temperatures and ensures quick and even heat distrubution. Made with a flat base for better stability on modern hobs and supplied with a stay-cool phenolic handle attached. It is safe to use metal utensils in this wok, which comes with a food-safe lacquer finish and full seasoning instructions. It is suitable for use on all hobs including Gas Glass/Ceramic Halogen/Ceramic Induction Solid Plate/Fuel and Hot Plate, you should always start with a medium heat (NB with Induction hobs do not use high power settings or the booster function, but gradually increase the heat as the temperature rises very quickly).Why cook with a Wok? To enjoy Asian cooking at its best you need very high temperatures, and a Wok made of Carbon Steel is ideal for this because Carbon Steel heats up quicker than stainless steel and aluminium while also being relatively light to allow easy turning of the food.Non-stick or Un-coated? Traditional Woks are un-coated, they must be seasoned carefully with a little oil before first use and thereafter periodically. The advantage of being un-coated is that higher temperatures can be reached which are in turn transferred directly to the food. the reason for dis-liking this item a) I have used ...
the reason for dis-liking this itema) I have used 1 of this to make food and when I washed it the stains/rust/spots left permanentlyb) can not use again because of health hazard.I can send you a few photos of its current status after just used once.I bought 2 but don't know what to do with second one, both are very heavy to return with lots of postage cost..

Lovely wok, great value!
Really good wok, fantastic value! I can fit loads of chopped veg in it, can easily do a stir-fry for 4-6 people! The wok is a little bit heavy but it's still a very good pan. It comes with easy to follow 'Seasoning Instructions' on the cardboard sleeve, which was very helpful.

dont waste your money
Good job it was so cheap as an add on item, it's awful and was binned after a few uses it looked all rusty inside and the food tasted funny from it
