Regular steel can pit and cause ricochets. Our targets are laser-cut from 3/8" AR500 for safe, lasting use. **Q: Can I hear the hit clearly?** A: Yes. Each impact produces a sharp, satisfying "ding." You'll know instantly when you hit the target. No second-guessing, no walking downrange to check. **Q: Is this target good for beginners?** A: Yes. The clear "ding" feedback helps new shooters know when they hit β€” so you can focus on your aim, not your eyes. **Q: Is the swivel paddle removable?** A: Yes. Our patented connection structure allows the paddle to be easily removed if you prefer to use only the hostage target. **Q: Does this target come with a stand or hanger?** A: No, target only. Stand and hanger sold separately. Check our store for compatible hangers and stands. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Reactive spinner won't last... *by M***Z on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 7 August 2020* The plate is fine. More cratering than I'd expect for AR500, but that doesn't really bother me. I didn't expect the spinner to get blown off on the second trip to the range, though. It handled the 9mm fine on day one and it was a lot of fun, but didn't survive 10 rounds of .223 on day two. I wouldn't buy this for rifle practice--just save yourself $30 and get the basic plate target. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as advertised *by S***6 on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 20 March 2022* Works as advertised. It was shot with slugs and 556 within 15-25 yards just to test it. Has a couple dings from the slugs and you can see the impact from the backside, but 9mm at 10 -15 yards it’s solid. Shoot within the advertised distance and with some paint it looks like new. No noticeable damage to the paddle or mounting welds on the first day of shooting over 1000 rounds. This defiantly makes shooting more enjoyable. ### ⭐ Make sure you're garbage company will take one of these before you buy *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 8 December 2021* The target stands up to .308 WIN, so long as you don't hit it on the edge but the circle doesn't flip around to the other side. The hinge has round housing and a square "pin". If you hit the circle with 5.56 from 50 yards, it flips right around as it should. If you hit it with .308 WIN from 100 yards, it just sticks there. It's kind of surprising to see the paint chip off where you hit it not have it move. Otherwise, it's a reasonably durable product. Won't buy it again, though.***UPDATE***5.56 snapped the paddle clean off the target after less than 100 hits at the recommended range. Here's hoping my next garbage pickup will accept this target. ## Frequently Bought Together - Highwild AR500 Steel Hostage Reactive IDPA Shooting Target 3/8" Thick Armored Steel Torso Targets - Neon Color - Highwild T-Post Target Hanger - T Post 2x4 Bracket Target Mount - AR500 Steel Gong Targets Conversion Adapter - Highwild 2x4 Target Hanger | Target Stand Base | Adjustable Height Steel Post | AR500 Steel Gong Targets Conversion Adapter --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/472696461-highwild-ar500-steel-hostage-reactive-idpa-shooting-target-3-8](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/472696461-highwild-ar500-steel-hostage-reactive-idpa-shooting-target-3-8) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
