Can one disable the alarm feature (if not needed)?

Disabling the alarm feature will also disable the red flashing. You will then have just a plain pill box.

How long does the alarm beep for?

It beeps periodically until you hit a button on the side after you take your medicine. It has been the only thing that has worked for my mom with dementia.

Does it dispense medication upto multiple times a day?

No, it is only set up for twice a day. If I find that I need something between times, I simply set the medication’s bottle on top of the unit. I did not need medication dispensed more than twice when I purchased the unit, and hope that Ido not need to long term.
