The output to the USB or SD is in MP3 format. **Q: Does it have treble and bass control?** A: No there is no control of sound, but the speakers have and excellent sound. **Q: It seems like the CD malfunctions on a lot of the reviews. Had this problem been addressed?** A: Mine is a little over a year old, and I have mostly used it for LPs and cassettes.
