UNI-T UT61E Digital Multimeter True RMS Peak Meter PC Connect AC DC Voltage Relative Mode 22000 Counts Data Hold Auto Range

I do a lot of electrical testing on Robotics projects, as well as, Arduino, RaspberryPi, and Breadboard electronics items. Also build and repair construction equipment that include(s) Welding Machines and Hydraulic units. I purchased this UNI-T UT61E Multimeter because in many situations I need 2 multimeters and read a review that the UNI-T UT61E is a good meter for the cost. I tested readings compared with my 12070T and the Volt, Amp, and Ohm readings were almost exactly the same, in fact the UT61E provides finer detail. The Capacitor readings were slightly different but after testing Caps with a 3rd meter it appears the UT61E may be more accurate than the 12070T, which was a pleasant surprise since the UT61E costs less. I'm happy with both meters and found that the (very flexible) Mini-Grabber probes (TSB2HSET) I ordered on Amazon also give me the same consistent readings on both Multimeters. The 12070T has a back-light but I rarely use it because don't think working on electronics in the dark is a good idea, so the lack of one on the UT61E is not an issue because the screen is very clear and easy to see even it low light room . Over-all I am VERY pleased with the UNI-T UT61E Multimeter purchase and like the easy to see RED color as I worry about leaving my brown 12070T multimeter on jobsites when busy. I live in two locations and after testing this UNI-T UT61E multimeter, I have decided to order another one so I have one in both locations. I would recommend the UNI-T UT61E to new electronics users that are looking for a good multimeter at a good price. The probes that come with the multimeter are great, but I would suggest you also order the inexpensive (TSB2HSET) Mini-Grabbers I ordered on Amazon because they allow hands free electronics testing ... You'll like having that option ... as an additional note: All the meters in the photograph I purchased on Amazon and very happy with all of them, very helpful electronics tools.

Very nice and accurate meter for the money. My only gripe is that there's no back light on it. This is the top of UT61 line of meters in terms of resolution, accuracy, and sensitivity but no back light.

I really liked the specs on the meter, and it looks and feels great. Unfortunately (just my luck) the one I received had a display anomaly as far as I can determine. Partial digits disappeared under certain selected function and that really surprised me. Don't want to bash Uni-T because they are so well received all over. Obviously they make decent meters, I must have gotten an exception. Also, I received one with the battery already installed. Maybe a prior return? One thing I would have liked better is a set of leads with caps; this one came without any caps. The other concern I have is once you have the manual in hand, you find Uni-T recommends measuring no more than 30V (???) . Seems odd for a Cat V 600v/Cat III 1000 Volt rated meter.

An avid hobbyist. The multi meter seems be a great value for buck.

I have a meter that costs half as much and it came with a back light. What a BIG disappointment this meter doesn't have a back light, other than that, it's a nice meter for the money. The ad showed the display with a white background, not the standard display that I got. I wanted a meter that was a bit more accurate and a more visible display than the one I currently have and this looked like it fit the bill. The display is your standard LCD. Now I see it's been discontinued and possibly I got one of the last few. Maybe they'll recreate it WITH a back light. Keeping it only because it's more accurate than my old meter.

Arrived with a dead fuse installed (it's a rough journey across the Pacific, I understand) and material completely in Chinese (the Uni-Tech website has the English versions available), but still giving five stars for being a well-made product at a great price.

Not as advertised, there is no backlight function also the box that it came in was badly damaged. The unit was ok but it was not what I expected

Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the priciest models but this is a great hobbyists' multimeter.

High quality and robust multimeter, good for its price! Though it does not have a backlight, the auto hold compensates for it, and was pretty accurate too!

The PC integration cord to allow the unit to live monitor is a serial cable, can you believe it? 1990's technology today is poor. It should be USB at least or Bluetooth, but not serial. I have written the supplier and asked for an up grade cord connector. We will let you know what they do for this situation.
