FUTURO Comfort Stabilizing Back Support, L/XL

I am a Doc and have been recommending this back brace to many of my patients with back pain. I use it myself to stabilize lower back when doing outside activities in the garden and running marathons.

I actually had an old Futuro back support brace exactly like this one that I absolutely loved that I use whatever I’m outside in the yard working or needing to pick up anything heavy and carry the same. These braces help protect your back during lifting, etc. I purchased this new one for my wife to use so she would not hurt her back and lifting, etc. I have purchased other brands of back support braces but this one is definitely the one I like the best. I had lumbar back surgery in 2021 and I want to make certain that I don’t re-injure my lower back so I use a back brace whenever I’m doing any type of work around the house. Do not hesitate to buy these as they are very comfortable and should prevent you from injuring yourself from lifting, improperly, etc..

Size matters. I learned that S/M works better for me than the other sizes. I am a male and I wear size 31 jeans. Anyway, I am currently on my third S/M Back Support brace. I was in a roofing accident many decades ago, and I have six bolts in my spine. I have bad back posture and my back goes out of alignment after sitting in a chair for only 10-20 minutes. This back support brace is the only thing that saves me. I wear it all day and only take it off when I shower or go to sleep. I even use it when I bench press because it is hard to sit up with my weak back. If I had one complaint it is that the sides can fold in on themselves. When that happens, it doesn't offer nearly as much back support. I wish that the material on the sides was as firm as the material in the back or front. I will deduct one star for that.

It fits! The problem with one size fits all back supports is that they are generally too small for short, extra fat people like me. I had an older Futuro that fit well, until I wore out the Velcro closure. None of the supports that were available in stores near me fit - the "regulars" were too small, the "plus size" were too big to give good support. So, I took a chance on a L/XL Futuro. It is excellent, and I can wear it under a 2XL T-shirt or a football jersey for travel or to attend an event. It would work under a polo or sport shirt, but I have not done that yet. Excellent quality. Works as well as my "old faithful", and will last longer, I think.

I'm back with my second purchase since I misplaced the one I bought in August; naturally the price I paid had doubled since then. (I suspect my cat; she loves to sleep on it for some obscure reason.) While I still find it very comfortable with just the right amount of light support for my arthritic, old lady back, the back pad and bands seem a bit narrower than the one I bought last summer. Is it my memory or are they cutting corners? Ironically, the heavy duty back brace with a pelvic plate and pulley strings that a medical device company foisted on me at the doctor's made my pain a lot worse. As long as Futuro continues to make this simple brace and doesn't mess with the design too much, I'll continue to purchase from them. This little brace really works for me.

This appears to be exactly what I need for my back. Why the one star? After receiving it the day after I ordered it and the same day I ordered it discovered it to be too large after trying it on over clothes it is not returnable. Clothes that I was unable to wear because of incorrect size were returnable but this item, put on over clothing touched only by my hands is not returnable or exchangeable for a smaller size which would probably be exactly what I want. Nowhere on the site is any information given to indicate what the sizes are, however the sizes are written on the package. This size is 39-50 inches or 99.1-127 cm for the information for others who might wish to order it.This elderly and disabled person living on Social Security is not happy about now having to wait for another month to be able to have the money to order the smaller size. Anyone want a L/XL, never worn only tried on over clothes? It is in mint condition. While I am at it I will give the sizes of the other back supports which I hope will be useful for others who might wish to purchase this item. Remember it is not returnable but I found that to be nowhere stated. Sizes are: X-SMALL/SMALL 20-29 in. 50.7-73.6 cm SMALL/MEDIUM 29-39 in. 73.6-99.1 cm LARGE/X-LARGE 39-50 in. 99.1-127 cm 2X-LARGE/3X-LARGE 50-60 in. 127-152.4 cm

Very good product, price too high

The material and strap is good fit. The pressure point provide for back support gives good feeling

I bought this stabilizing back support for my wife since her work requires her to stand for almost 8 hours a day. She finds it very comfortable and easy to use. The fabric feels really nice on the skin and doesn’t cause any irritation, even after hours of wear. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but the quality definitely makes up for the price. I honestly wish I could buy two of these!

S/M/Firm version. Doesn't straighten your back, posture or hold it firmly in place. it's no different than having a flat piece of wood or plastic taped to your back so i'm wondering why this thing costs as much as it does. you're better off getting a lumbar support pillow for your seat.
