Great Sugar Substitute Containing Stevia, Monk Fruit, and Erythritol--Mostly Erythritol!
For over twenty-one years, I've been using stevia extract in my coffee and tea. It is a great sugar substitute; it has zero calories and a zero glycemic index, which makes it perfect for diabetics and those, like myself, who are trying to lose weight. Most importantly, it doesn't make me constipated like sucralose and aspartame, which are carcinogenic. I've been using monk fruit and erythritol for only a few years. They have properties that are similar to stevia. Neither one has given me any issues.I was very excited for an opportunity to review the Onetang Monk Fruit Stevia Erythritol Blend. Its primary ingredient is erythritol, which is a natural sugar made from grain. How much erythritol is in one serving? I don't know. I've been using this product for over two weeks and I love it. I haven't suffered any ill side effects or allergic reactions. It hasn't harmfully affected my IBS-C; in fact, I think it may have improved my digestion.I've used the ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener in my coffee (both hot and iced) and tea (both hot and iced). I'm a caffeine addict. I would die without caffeine. If I used sugar instead of stevia or monk fruit, I would be obese and/or diabetic. Also, I would probably have a mouth full of cavities. The ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener does an excellent job of sweetening my coffee and tea. I didn't use it for baking because I never bake from scratch. In the mail, I received a thick, sturdy, one-pound pouch/bag of ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener. The pouch will stand upright on its own and, at the top, in the left-hand corner, it has a twist-off cap and a convenient nozzle/spout for pouring the contents into a cup/thermos of coffee/tea. On the back of the pouch, in the lower right-hand corner, there is a best by date of Jun/26/2024, which is most excellent considering this is only September of 2022. However, under Storage Condition, there is the following: "Please consume as soon as possible after opening." I wonder why the company states this. My pouch is already half empty. I don't have to worry about it ruining if it stands on my shelf too long.At the time of this review, the price of the ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener is $6.99, which seems reasonable. Also, this is a product of China. Overall, I recommend the ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener to anyone who is searching for a natural substitute for white sugar.

A Monk Fruit Blend...including stevia and erythritol.
It is kinda odd how companies make the "monk fruit" so predominant on this sweetener packaging. It kinda leads you to think it is a pure monk fruit sweetener, but it is actually a blend of Erythritol, Monk Fruit, & Stevia. It tastes mostly like erythritol to me, but it doesn't have a bad flavor at all. Erythritol can sometimes have a burning or "cooling effect" and I think this blend using the stevia and the monk fruit helps prevent that strong burn with this one. So that's nice. I feel like it does take a little more to sweeten my baked goods than my normal sweetener of choice, but with a little extra it worked well. I always advise someone getting off real sugar to wait a while before trying these alternatives because they take some getting used to. But if you are a frequent using of these types of sugar replacements than this one might be a nice one to try. All in all not too bad and has a great texture.

Good overall flavor - easy pour bag
Same texture as real granulated sugar and has a good sweetness to it. But even after several years of not using regular table sugar, I still do not find any alternative that matches the sweetness and the no after taste of regular sugar. But I can tolerate the taste of these substitutes much better these days. I find I like Monk Fruit blended sweeteners the best, as this helps prevent any one sweetener sub from taking over the taste profile, (like I find Stevia on its own to have a bitter after taste that can be rather strong and lingers - to me).I like the texture of this as it is a lot like regular table sugar, so you get that sensation when using it. Some alternatives are a bit too powdery and don't feel much like sugar. So, I do appreciate this products granular texture. The taste is sweet, but somehow it gets lost when mixed in a recipe or smoothie and seems to take a whole lot more than real table sugar (but the point is to not use table sugar, so I have to use way more of this). I find that to be true with all the alternatives out there, and again, a blend seems to be the best answer when trying to get a sugar sweetness and flavor profile in your recipes.Great price for a big bag - which you'll need if you sweeten very many things. I sweeten my smoothies most of the time, as I use frozen berries, which tend to be a bit sour. This also comes in little packets, which I like for sweetening my coffee and helping me to control the urge to use a huge tablespoon instead of just two little packets.

Looks like real sugar
The monk fruit sweetner is a sugar replacement. It is granular like real sugar. Very sweet and tastes better than other sugar replacements. It has no calories. It has an easy to pour package and the cap screws on.

Erythritol, Monk Fruit, & Stevia Blend
This ONETANG Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener comes across specifically as a monk fruit sweetener, but it is actually a blend of Erythritol, Monk Fruit, & Stevia. With 8g of Erythritol per serving (2 tsps), you can assume it is mostly Erythritol. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol and can cause GI issues for some individuals at higher doses. For me, I don't have an issue as long as it is in moderation. I found the flavor to be nice and mildly sweet. I ended up adding a bit more to my coffee than the serving, but it got the job done.

taste a bit strange
This sweetener tastes a bit strange compared to other monk fruit sweetener I've tried, it's probably because of the stevia. It doesn't taste as unpleasant as purely stevia but the aftertaste is still there, just a mild. I find that I have to use a bit more than usual to get the same amount of sweetness as I'm using too. It's not completely unpleasant to eat but it's not my favorite either.

Made in China and not all monk fruit
The good: it’s hard to find true granulated versions of this, so it pours and measures like sugar and it doesn’t leave dust on everything. The taste is great to me and the east pour spout is super easy to use.The bad: it’s hard to say how much of this is monk fruit versus the other ingredients. It could be very little. It’s also made in China.
