Too Legit
I was nervous to buy because of other reviews but I’m so glad I took a chance on this. It was easy to install, works great, and really personalized my furniture to my needs. The cons- no screws but I had some on hand that worked just fine. Also no directions but wasn’t a huge issue with some critical thinking. Last- not really a con to me but another review mentioned some scratches in the powder coating, which mine had as well, but personally I don’t care at all.Tips for installing-Leave the zip ties on until you have screws in both the top and sides if possible. There is a small round stopper that’s the size of an aspirin that protrudes- this goes in the top corner and should be facing the direction you want the top to pull out.I aligned it on the sides and had someone hold a book on top to make sure it was flush while I added screws and repeated on the other side. Then you can perfectly align the top in the closed position and screw it in. After both of those steps I cut the zip ties and continued adding the extra screws. The top sits exactly where I want it to and isn’t wonky like some other reviews. If this is a custom build I’d recommend waiting to add all four sides to the base until after assembly.Great value for the money, don’t be discouraged by some of these reviews. I’m not particularly handy/certainly not even an amateur carpenter but it came out great.

Instructions.
Would be better if directions were supplied. Otherwise works great.

Works very well
We ordered to convert a trunk w/regular hinge to one that lifts up. My husband is a custom home builder so he didn't need instructions & had screws. It was not super easy to install but he didn't have any problems. However, if someone has no experience, it would be hard. No instructions or guidelines makes it much more difficult unless you already knew what you are doing. We can understand the screws. If too long, they'll puncture your cabinet or too short, won't hold. He put a 1/2 thick piece of wood inside cabinet to allow for longer screws so it would hold more securely. It's very sturdy with no wobbling at all. Very pleased with it but then again, I didn't have to install :).

Worked Perfectly!
I completely refinished our old coffee table and cut the top off and added these. They worked great on the project. I was concerned that the heavy top (30 lbs or so) would be an issue, but it lifts smoothly with minimal effort and even my wife and raise or lower it alone. Height is perfect to eat or use the laptop from our living room couch. I noted there were much more expensive models but I couldn't see a lot of difference in the specs for the price so thought I give this set a try. I'm glad I did. They are well made and do what I expected them to. Recommend,

Rookie carpenter made a toy box with these.
Works great.Took multiple tries for this hobby carpenter to install in the right spot so watch a video or be patient. Patience won for me.

Holes are weirdly aligned and the spot for the stabilizing bar won’t allow them to completely close
I bought these to replace spring-loaded ones that came with my coffee table. They work much better and are smoother than springs. The issues are with the placement and size of the holes. The holes on the arms where I should be able to put brackets for a stabilizing bar are too high so when installed, the hydraulic canister hit it so it won’t close fully. I ended up using the lower holes but that means the bar end up hitting stuff inside the table so I have to keep that area clear of anything high. The holes to attach the table are also not lined up and they’re small. I expected them to be bigger to give room to adjust bolts but they were in weird places and it was very difficult to install the screws because the hydraulic canister is in the way of any screwdriver or drill. The screw in the middle goes in sideways and I guess you could skip that one and just use the other four but even those are a tight squeeze.

A little wobbly when opening and closing, but very stable when open
Using these hinges, I built a 36x18 lift-top coffee table. The top is fairly heavy, being built from veneer covered 3/4" MDF with a hardwood border. As others have mentioned, it's a little wobbly when lifting, but this can be reduced by grabbing both ends of the table top while lifting. When in the open and closed positions, there's no wobble.Screws are not included, nor are there any installation instructions, but installation is fairly simple. You will most likely need to have access to the bottom of the table cabinet in order to install these hinges. I found it easiest to lay the top down on the floor, upside down and position the table cabinet in the desired position over the top, then mark the screw holes for both the table top and the cabinet at the same time. In this way, the top is positioned perfectly in the closed position. When ope, the table top is raised about 6" higher, and about 11" forward of the closed position.

So incredibly pleased by these!
This has to be one of my favorite purchases I’ve made in a while. I have this hope chest that I love and wanted to keep in my living room, but working at it wasn’t really an option because of the whole hunching over situation.I looked around for tables that raise up and down, but the quality was just lousy and to get a good one would be crazy expensive. This was the alternative, and the better option by far and wide!Installation: It took maybe 45 minutes to install (measuring, collecting the screws, taking off existing hinges), which in retrospect isn’t all that bad. There are no instructions, but if you’re at all handy, you can make it happen.Sturdiness: I was concerned about being able to lean on or put any weight on the table when it was up, and you totally can. I’m leaning on it right now. I mean, you can’t put your whole body weight into it. That’s just basic physics, but it’s quite stable.Pulling up and down: I lift the put down the top regularly with full cups of coffee on it and don’t spill. The hydronic arms really make it smooth.
