Yes, I am currently using it for an outlet on my dryer.

The answer is it is not insulated, however nothing you find will be. to make your bathroom not get cold/hot from the vent to the outside your first need a really good outside vent cover and make sure to ensure it is bug and bird proofed (screened). Next insulate it in the attic or between the floors Next if you can make it go through the walls instead of in the room that will help but if you can not then insult it and wrap sarah wrap around the insulation.
