J Hooks with Resin Pad

The j-hook sleeve size is a perfect fit for the rack I have. Sunny Fitness makes some of the racks with a 2.35" x 2.35" 1 inch hole (model SF-BH6802). I had the hardest time seeing all of the 2x2 and 3x3 accessories on Amazon, none of which compatible with my rack. Even SF couldn't sell me the needed parts, so when I found this, I feel like it's meant to be for the unique size. The J hook is nice and snug on the rail and I trust it's ability to hold the weight based on the quality of the part! Well done HulkFit! Thank you.

J hooks with nylon pad are a vast improvement over the standard J hooks as they obviously protect against paint peeling scratches etc. I wish the spotter arms I also purchased came with the same nylon pad insulation. As with all hulk fit products these represent great value and are very sturdy.

Very sturdy and good fit for rack. Much heavier and more precise design than other version of j-hook. Has lining on inside to reduce scratches on rack. It looks like there is a challenge on one screw for the resin pad riser. Screws are countersunk M4 and all have room to protrude thru the back side of the metal plate except for one. The bottom screw of the riser resin pad will rub against and scratch the rack if too long. This they have to be shorter than standard size. Picked these up from Amazon warehouse labeled as like new. Looks like previous customer tried to fix this issue with a different and shorter machine screw on the resin pad. They are not holding so the riser plate can shift side to side a little. I will work with customer support to figure this out. 9/1) Update to original review. The typical starting length of M4 screw is 10mm. I was able to replace the two screws with M4x5mm. They work great.

Most of these j hooks have reviews about being droopy or the gap being too wide making the j hook loose so I was super concerned. These hooks are well priced and well made. They function like they should. Make sure to measure your rack to ensure the hook slides in perfectly. This set shows 2.3” gap on the brackets which work perfect since you figure that if your rack measures 2x2 then the hook has to be have an attachment bracket slightly bigger than 2” to wrap around the rack.

I needed a second set of J hooks for my 2.3 x 2.3 HulkFit rack, in order to reposition the barbell easier between different exercises. So decided to try the upgraded version with the resin pads. They seem to be identical to the original J hooks, except that they are tapped to allow for countersunk machine screws to attach the resin pads. Pictures show original J hook on top, and resin J hook on bottom for comparison. All is good, except for the bottom screws that are to long and protrude past the backside of the metal plate. This will then cause it to bind up when attaching and eventually scratch the rack when the screws punch through the felt on the backside. Many other reviews say this same thing about those bottom screws being to long, and some mention buying shorter screws (5mm instead of 10mm) to solve that problem. I used a couple small washers, which then seemed to solve the problem, by allowing the screw to be backed out some from protruding past the backside. I do like that it is a smooth resin, that allows me to slide the barbell left or right a couple inches easily to line it up centered in the rack. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

for some reason one of these had different screws in it that protruded past the countersunk resin pad. I swapped some screws around to get them to sit deeper so I didn't continue to scratch my bar up. I have a cheap CAP bar so it doesn't bother me TOO bad, but if I spent the jack on a nice Ohio Bar or something else that's fancy, I can see how someone would be pissed with these.

I needed to add a second set of brackets to my power cage in order to setup for squats. These were a great price and fit my needs perfectly. I also like the added felt pads on the inside to keep the paint from chipping off my frame.

Either these were returned or they have a terrible finish with rough surfaces and paint chipping all over. That being said, they do what they are designed to do but the surfaces are all rough and chipped

Fit well to my 2.3” cage. Seem to be sturdy but haven’t really put a lot of weight in them yet. Do be careful with screw heads for the pads. Two of my screws were not tightened enough so they protrude out the surface and marred my barbell. Get a large Philips screw driver and tighten up the screws before using.
