The Unmarked Witch

Brilliant. An addictive Witchy read.
When you've been SO excited for a book all year and then you binge read it straight away because it's just so good.Ah this book!!! I loved the concept of an unmarked Witch, wearing your spells on your skin. And both Raven and her best friend Kirsi 😭 are brilliantly written as the two MCs.They take no hostages. And OMG some moments. That's friendship and courage right there 😭 🤫The book is fast paced, filled with dark twisty romance and danger. You spend a good part of the book trying to figure out who exactly the good / bad guys REALLY are in the story and I love that. This book is brilliant. Exciting and addictive. Luckily there's a chapter from the next book in the series but OMG can not wait!!BOOK SYNOPSIS - ALL RAVEN WANTS IS PEACE. BUT IN A MAGICAL REALM PLAGUED BY DECEPTION, THE ONLY THING HER WORLD KNOWS IS TURMOIL.A land where witches wear their spells like tattoos is no place for a woman without a single magical mark—except for Raven, whose unblemished skin contradicts the truth of her power. After the death of a coven leader heralds the start of the infamous Witch Trials, Raven finds herself dodging death to triumph. The journey quickly descends into perils far greater than she'd ever imagined, including a war on her heart from a man she’d only ever known as a villain.

WTF! WOW!
What a book!I mean, I need a breathThis book surpassed all expectations.I really hate giving books 5 stars but, anything less would be unfair. The world building and characterisation is very good. Also the plot as it unfolds is very engaging. As for plot twists, some I saw coming but others were shocking. This book had good character development and is very well written and paced. Also includes a decent seasoning of spice. 🌶🌶🌶/5.Whilst this review contains no spoilers, I will say t his book does raise issues in regards to the beliefs we programme our children with and the importance of following your own intuition.I can't wait to read book two

We love a trail/games
I can tell I enjoy a book when I'm thinking about it when I'm not reading trying to figure out where the author is going. This book did not disappoint I was constantly thinking who was the bad guy, who was going to be the love interest, who's going to betray Raven and I was no disappointed. It definitely makes me realise if I'm struggling to read a book it's not me it's the book. I eagerly await the next one

Seems more like YA
I heard good reviews but the storyline seems more young adult and childish in some aspects. I like the magic and world buildinv

Miranda does it again!
Miranda's books always hook me in from the very first page and I am swept away in a new magical world, where I know I will laugh, shed tears and swoon. I have loved Miranda's writing since picking up her Fae Rising Series (one you also need to check out). The Unmarked Witch is by fair my favourite book of 2022 and it is my new go to Witchy read! If you're looking for witchy trials, enemies to lovers romance and a book full of magic and mystery, that keeps you on the edge of your seat...why are you still reading this review...go check this book out of your cart right now and THANK ME LATER!

Ruim

I loved this book
Ms. Raven Moonstone, Thanks for not dying. Ever the Stalker, ~BastianThanks to Miranda Lyn for letting me read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.Welcome to a world of magic, about spells, ancient books; a world of witches and shifters, about death and trials. Welcome to the world of Raven Moonstone and her trials. This is a story about a group of witches trying to win the Witch trials, a competition where the winner will be Moon Coven leader. And maybe you’re wondering why are they looking for another coven leader? Because this book starts with the death of the former coven leader… dun dun dun. After this and some other deaths, Raven and her friends and not friends enter their names into the competition and oh surprise, the girl who everyone underestimated her entire life is one of the chosen to compete on the trials. Trials that are hosted by the Dark King, the head of the Fire Coven, and one of the most hated person for the witches, specially Raven because of some events on her past. Why? I won’t say it because you know I’m not such a monster. This is the general plot of this story and with this you can figure it out what is going to happenVery quick opinion: I loved this book, as the other Miranda’s world this one is amazing, the magic system is amazing and how the spells of these witches manifest physically is interesting as hell. As the first book in a series, this one is truly epic, there’s action, magic, real danger and a really good story that settles the basis to all the things are to come in the next part of this story.Something I loved a lot was the characters, and obviously my girl Raven is the first one I want to talk about here. She is so badass, but is also loyal, compassionate, kind and the friend everyone needs. All her life she has been underestimated, no one thinks she is capable of do great things and here she is, doing great on the trials, fighting for a better future and discovering some tea that will change everything. Another character I loved was Kirsi, if Raven is the heart of this duo, then Kirsi is the soul, she is so fun, and is such a good friend, she is amazing, intelligent and has a familiar pet so cute I wanted to hug so much. And finally, you know, there’s some dude that I LOVED, that went to my list of male characters I love, The Dark King, aka my cinnamon roll who will burn the world without remorse, without doubt and specially without blink, because all his life he has been portrayed as the villain, a very interesting dark and mysterious person, love him so much, but if I say another word this will become a spoiler festival and everyone would want to unalive me for spill the tea.So, change of topic. This book was addictive, if I could have, I would have read it in one sitting, but life happens; this story is fast, full of action, the tension between the characters was so well written, and had the perfect balance between spice, tension and this epic deadly trials. The world is fascinating, and I really want to know more about the other covens, the lore and what the hell will happen with all of these characters because yes, this book ended with a freaking cliffhanger, I won’t say I wasn’t expecting another thing because I had the feeling of an epic finale, and I’m not disappointed about how this book ended.I gave this book 5/5 because if you haven’t noticed it, I loved it.

As expected
Neither good nor bad, it is a nice fit for its genre but a little too cliché for me that's all. Actually I really enjoyed the world-building around the story. Nice writing, it still keeps you hooked.
