Yet to their millions of fans across the world, affectionately known as maggots, SLIPKNOT aren't just a group, they're also a counterculture and a way of life. Those fans play an important role in a new documentary entitled 'Day of The Gusano'. Directed by SLIPKNOT's own M.Shawn Crahan, aka Clown, Day of The Gusano documents the Iowa band's first ever visit to the country in December 2015 and features exclusive interviews with SLIPKNOT's members talking about the importance of their fanbase and the band's long awaited first ever show in Mexico City. Talking about the movie, Clown says, "SLIPKNOT still has dreams for itself. Finally playing Mexico was one of them. It's been a surreal life of rock and roll for SLIPKNOT and the fact that the dreams still go on for us is simply incredible. Thank you." Guitarist Jim Root continues, "We had such a great time at Knotfest Mexico... Not only with all the friends and bands that were there, but with the fans and the crowd we had to document it with. Now we get to share it with the world." 'Day of the Gusano' also chronicles the rabid devotion of the Mexican maggots and sees the band hearing personal, emotive stories from some of their fans, all interspersed with footage from SLIPKNOT's incendiary live show at the inaugural KNOTFEST Mexico. Medley: Surfacing/ Til We Die Review: Totally killer LP/DVD package. Quality is stunning. - Awesome 3LP/DVD package. This comes in a killer triple gatefold package that has the DVD placed in the middle VS just being loosely packed in with one of the albums. That's a nice touch right there. Vinyl is a bright red, and seems to be 180 gram. Quality of the vinyl is outstanding. No warp at all, and absolutely no surface noise. The concert itself is great. Setlist is a nice overview of their entire career. These guys bring so much energy live, and the Mexican crowd is totally into it. It comes across quite nicely on the vinyl. I haven't gotten a chance to view the DVD yet, but will assume the visual will at minimum equal the audio. Only thing I wish was included is a download card for the audio. Certainly not worth taking anything away from the rating, but it would've been cool. I would recommend this to anyone who might be on the fence. The fact that desertcart has this for $15.56 is unbelievable. Review: It's Slipknot, of course you need it! - First off, I'm getting to old to enjoy the live circle pits so when a band releases a concert dvd I usually pick it up, good or bad reviews. I'll judge for myself thank you. I absolutely love the dvd! Yeah, I wish it were played straight through with the fan and band sight seeing footage as extras, but I'm not gonna not watch it cuz of that. I thought the sound was great for a standard dvd and cd at this price. People are getting spoiled with Blu Ray and all the fancy stuff available now. I don't care if they deleted a few songs or not, I'm ecstatic just to be able to enjoy it while in the comfort of my home. If you buy a concert dvd and expect to feel like you were there you'll be disappointed with any bands footage. Live concerts are exactly that, live! If you're a true fan you're gonna buy it anyways! Turn it up so the neighbors can enjoy it and go mosh in the front yard, Corey Taylor wants you to!!!
