No they are not raw wood but they are very pretty and look good on they wall. you cant beat them for the price

Q: Are there holes or marks on the bottom of wood to attach them to brackets? Or do you have to make your own.

You have to make your own, but so very easy to do. Just make sure they're the same distance on each side, the screws go in very easy. They are short. I love my shelves, I bought 2 sets of them so far.

Q: Are the wood boards MDF or solid wood?

They are kinda like balsa wood. They are nice shelves.
