So Happy to have Found This
Took my Parrot to the Vet for her Nails, Wings and Toe Nails to be clipped. He found a horrifying sore on the bottom of her foot. I felt really awful I had not noticed it first. So he mentioned that I needed to get a natural wood one and I did immediately, but her toenails and beak seemed to grow faster without something for her to rub her beak and nails on. Then I found this perch, what a relief. I can go less often and still allow her comfort. It is made so that the top is soft and her nails curl around to the sides where the perch is rough. So her padded part of her foot stays soft and not callused. The perch itself is stabilized on the cage with two silver disc's that press up against the bars so the perch doesn't wobble, Comes in lots of colors and sizes and while it seems to be a little pricey, for the comfort of my Parrot, my own Peace of mind and less trips that are really quite costly. I feel it was a really good value. My Parrot is older and I won't have her one day. I want to make this the Best Retirement ever for her. I love her so much.

INSTANT PEDICURE!
We adopted our Lilac Crested Amazon Parrot and I honestly couldn't tell you when the last time her nails were trimmed, if ever at all. She isn't crazy about being held so the idea someone could even get one nail trimmed is laughable. Her nails were not only becoming a problem for her but it was becoming increasingly difficult to have her sit on our finger or shoulder – her nails would shred our skin and draw blood. I replaced all her perches with these awesome pedicure perches so our girl was constantly on one. With the flat side up and set up in the morning, by that night our parrot's nails were already filed down some! In less than 48 hours we have a parrot that has trimmed nails! I highly recommend this product without hesitation. She loves them and so do we! These perches bring the family together and will save money and trauma to the vet or groomers.

Warning
Took my Eclectus to my Avian Vet and she gave me the warnings of using sand or concrete perches. #1, the birds develop raw spots on the bottoms of their feet. #2 Since they like to clean their beaks after eating, they will also rub their beaks on the perch so much to the point of thinning the beak to that causes the beak to crack or break. She said to use all natural wood and for me to get rid of mine. What a waste of money. Don’t buy these.

It's NOT non-toxic. beware
Despite everything the claim about it being non-toxic, the metal bolt, washers, and wingnuts are galvinized so all contain zinc -- the leading source of heavy metal toxicity in pet birds. After my Senegal parrot started showing signs of possible toxin exposure, I read about the dangers of zinc in galvinized metal (the main source of toxicity for pet parrots). So I tested the the metal with muriatic acid (which reacts with zinc in galvinized metal by foaming). The results were positive -- all the metal used in this perch is toxic!! I had to replace the provided hardware with stainless steel. Make sure all the metal used in your parrot toys/perches is stainless steel! If not, replace it or throw it out. I had been unaware of just how many parrot toys/perches are made with galvinized metal!!! Be wary!

Toxic blue paint
Horrible product!! Would definitely return!! At first I thought it was great. The size and way it attaches were what I wanted. However once I got my macaw and used it. Come to find out the blue paint is coming off. It is all over my macaws feet and she is having allergic reactions. Terrible material wish I could return!! If they had one without paint might be better . Do not buy blue one

Save Your Money & Buy Wooden Perches Instead
In retrospect, I don’t believe this is necessary for your bird. As long as you get natural wood perches instead of dial perches, and they get a variety of surfaces when outside the cage, this “pedi-perch” is rather useless. Not to mention that when I cleaned it once the blue paint smeared onto the towel.... what was that about and is that even safe for my bird to ingest? I discarded it, along with my money apparently

Do not buy this perch....
Absolute crap!!! do not buy this.... nothing you should put in a bird cage it’s like a cement turd that was painted green with a couple of Home Depot washers on it... wtf 12 bucks for this? Garbage... cheap piece of junk....

My canaries love it!
I bought the x-small for my canaries and the small and medium for my cockatiel and green cheek conure. My canaries LOVE their perch. The second I put it in their cage, they took turns hopping on it and rubbing their beaks and pecking at it. They squabbled all day over who got to sit on it. My bigger birds aren't as enthusiastic about theirs, but I do find them sitting on them sometimes, so they must like them at least a bit. Beware if ordering green; the image shows a bright grass green, but the perch I received was a disturbing Squidward green. The blue is just as shown, though, and looks very nice.
