Spooky Pookie (Little Pookie)

We loved this book and can’t wait to read it over and over in October. "Spooky Pookie" is a delightful children's book by Sandra Boynton that offers a perfect blend of Halloween charm and heartwarming storytelling. The story follows a little pig named Pookie as they search for the perfect Halloween costume, and it's filled with illustrations and simple, engaging text. This book is a great choice for young readers and parents looking for a not-so-scary Halloween tale that celebrates the fun of dressing up.

Our family loves this book! It’s our favorite book to gift to family and close friends when they have new babies. Why? 🌟 It was the first story my eldest son (who’s now 12) memorized at 2 years old. 🌟 We love celebrating Halloween & the costumes that come with it 🌟 The illustrations are story cute 🌟 the smaller board book format is durable and makes it easier for little hands to hold on to. This book will forever be on our shelf.

Poookie books are the best. East catchy fun read

This Pookie book is one of my favorites. My boys just fell in love with this little guy and I have too. Pookie is so relatable to our family. I just love the drawings and the words in this book.

My toddler son and I LOVE all of Sandra Boynton’s books (especially Moo, Baa, La La La) and this is another great one for our growing collection! He’s 16-months-old and I’ve been trying to get him familiar with and excited about Halloween. Even though there’s a pandemic this year and we won’t be going door-to-door, he still has a costume and will be trick or treating at home. This is a great book to read before naps or bedtime. The pages are illustrated beautifully and have nice bright colors that keep his attention. It’s also super durable which is great because he wants to “help” turn the pages as we read it. I actually changed the words for the “dragon” costume to “dinosaur” because it sure looks like a green dino 🦖 & he’s obsessed with them. That’s what I love about simply-worded books like this... it’s easy to create your own dialogue!! While it’s a short board book, I think the story is a little longer than some of the other books by the same author. Not by much, but it’s definitely longer than Moo, Baa, La La La or The Going To Bed Book. Even though it’s a Spookie Pookie there’s nothing frightening about this story. His favorite thing to do is point out the pig and pumpkins!! We’ll be reading this year-round I'm sure! Highly recommended for all toddlers and families of young kiddos. Plus you can’t beat the price!!!! Under $4!! Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻

Cute book, we love all of Sandra Boynton's books. This one was fun for us to read at night during this halloween season. Books are well constructed and handle the slobber and chewing of the books more than others. Definitely recommend.

I am a Sandra Boyton fan and appreciate how she uses characters to tell her stories. The concepts are simple and respect the children who are making decisions in a respectful and funny way.
