I have 7 sets of them. While I have not wrapped them around nails, I would say you can. As long as you are careful and wrap the copper wiring part (in between the LEDS) around the nail and avoid wrapping the very small section where the LED is soldered to the wires. The LEDs are spaced about every 4 inches or so and the wire and the LEDs are covered in some kind of clear, electrically insulating, conformal coating. If you wrapped the LED part too tightly around a small diameter object like a nail, you might damage the solder connection. They are tougher than they look but are definitely not indestructible. **Q: Is it says on and off switch does this mean I have to turn a switch on every day or night?
