No you dont split them they are separated already. **Q: can these be separated, or do they have to stay joined as pairs?** A: They can be, but you have to be carful. They don't just rip and it's real easy to puncture the seal when separating them **Q: How big is each pack in cm?** A: I would say about 10x10cm roughly **Q: Can they also be used for heating?
