What is the shelf life of the product as dispatched?

I purchased mine in March 2017 and the use by date is August 2020. I found these invaluable whilst trekking in the Himalayas, and even if the use by date was within one year they would still buy them - didn't have any problems on the trek. Also has very little to no background taste, unlike some chlorine treatments. Hope that helps.

What exactly does this kill?

Pathogens (bacteria, viruses etc) as I understand it.

Can it be used to sterilise fruit & veg

Theoretically, this would be feasible, as the outer shell would definitely be disinfected by the Micropur Forte. Nevertheless, we would like to mention that our product was developed purely for drinking water use and has been extensively tested only for this area.
