I have used this type of airlock for several years now, primarily in making lacto-fermented sauerkraut. It does a great job. I use the airlocks on half gallon mason jars with plastic lids. A proper size hole must be drilled in the lid for the rubber grommet. I have not had any problems with using these and they are easy to clean. Be sure to keep the cap, internal hood and airlock together after cleaning so you can find them for their next use. I learned by NOT doing this!

Great airlocks for bungs in my wine demi johns and oak barrels. I like the new style as they are easier to clean out. They are also sturdier than the other types that used to break at the stem when trying to push them into the hole.

No frills all function easy to clean good design

Just as described. Grommets may seem small at first but they easily stretch out around the airlocks. Me and a buddy used 1/2 drill bit to a food safe bucket lid and got a great seal using them. Airlocks are large compared to my other ones but it's a non-issue for me.

Great airlock for fermentation of any type of products that require protection from contamination.

Simple and not very expensive. They work as they were intended to work. Materials seem to be holding up well.

Bugs are made of silicone. Hard to get a seal unless fully dried after sterilising.
