Are the gemstones real?

Absolutely not! I own many REAL crystal healing stones/tumbled stones. These are like glass coloured beads. Not even that nice.

How much gemstones are there?

I think 12 possibly 13 but will need to check the box in the morning as it does specify on the box. My son loved it. how many.,

Hi, I am sure it was 12 gems! and yes this would be very suitable for a 6 year old. I bought the crystal Gems and a gold coin digging set for my two grandsons aged 5 and 6 years. They both really enjoyed doing the excavation and both wanted me to help, which turned out to be a lovely afternoon. It is easy for the child to tap little pieces away (as more like a chalk) the only problem was them not rushing to be the winner on who found the coins or gems first!

Does it come with a list of stones names in order for the child to read about and know what stones they have found?
