It allowed me to actually get my compression socks on so that I could wear them!

This Dycem non-slip mat is perfect for my purpose - keeping Morse code keys from sliding when I'm sending code. This size was wide enough for two iambic keys and a bug and they now stay put. But if you are not an amateur radio CW operator, the mat is still great for items that tend to slip or slide when you don't want them to. The mat is pretty solid and provides a non-slip cushion for slippery breakables, etc. Dycem makes mats in various sizes and colors, as well as in long, strips that can be placed in hallways, bathrooms, and on other potentially slippery floors, counters, etc.

This pad enables me to open bottles and jars one handed. Today I even grated cheese one handed. It has been super helpful while I can't use one arm after rotator cuff surgery. I bought the matching jar opener, which has allowed me to even open tough jars.I have had another Dycem pad under my Roomba's charging base the last few years. It keeps the base from shifting when the Roomba docks. I cut it to size so it doesn't show.

I really like this pad. I wish I had one a long time ago & I know I'm going to get more. I'm handicapped & 81. There are so many uses for one of these for someone like me. Tightening & untightening lids, making things stay put on the counter-top while preparing food. making dishes stay put on the table while eating. I tried eating ice cream in a paper bowl on a TV tray one time. What a joke! I only have use of one hand, so I was chasing it all over the place. finally had to put the bowl in my lap, spilled ice cream, not good. Now ANYTHING on a TV tray STAYS PUT . One side is plain & one has a faint pattern. Both sides seem to stick equally well to whatever they're in contact with.

I like to make my own bread, but when I knead it in my kitchen aid mixer, the dough is so stiff, it makes the mixer “walk” across the counter. I have to stand right next to the mixer the entire time, or it could end up on the floor. In desperation, I decided to try the Dycem non slip mat. It fits under the mixer perfectly and completely stops the “walking”. I can now clean up my mixing mess while the mixer does the kneading. However, this mat REALLY prevents the mixer moving: as in, you have to lay the mat down, then lift up the mixer and set it exactly where you want it on the mat. The mixer WILL NOT slid on this mat and the mat will not slid on the counter. Just something to consider if you have a very heavy mixer, like mine.

I've primarily used these in schools with students who have difficulty self-feeding. Recently, I purchased it for a relative who had a stroke. The Dycem mat keeps his bowl perfectly still so that he can self-feed (which is so important because self-feeding triggers the brain to begin the digestive process...which is important when there is a risk of aspiration. The mat is easy to wash and worth the money.

At the advice of her physical therapist, I bought this mat for a relative with hand tremors to stop her plate or bowl from sliding when she is eating. It worked very well the first time but has had a big pucker in it ever since - so we can't use it anymore. We are very disappointed.
