I bought it mainly to use for drinking cold water, but found that I make lovely herbal teas, and it keeps them warm for longer than I expected. Even take it out with me on cold days as it doubles up as a hot water bottle! It is easy to use, t filer at the bottom is great. It has a real high quality feel and is easy to clean. Everything about this bottle is great. It's too heavy for packing if I was to take it on a trek, so other than having it your desk when a cup would be nicer then I don't see the benefit??I bought it as the tea leaves are at the bottom not the top but this subsequently 'stews' the tea unless you drink it in one go.
