I then wound both the plunging pin and the back stop up to the chain to lock it all in place so the chain can move, being somewhat careful to line the chain pin up with the plunger. 4. I then slowly wound the pin into the link, using absolute minimal force. The pin wound in so easy, it was like turning up the volume knob of a Hi-Fi amplifier. 5. The pin just popped out, and was left inside of the barrel of the back stop, so there is no way of losing it. Hey presto, you have removed the pin from your rusty old chain with no damage to the removal tool, the chain, or myself from having to use extreme force.
