I've just dug this out of my drawer tonight and realised that I bought this 12 years ago... and yes it's still running on the same battery! Now I'll be honest, I very rarely wear this watch which probably helps battery longevity (e.g. not using watch functions and light). It's also much too small/light for my wrist (my daily is a 43mm auto so this Casio is tiny compared and feels it), however I can't knock the watch for this as it's a genuine retro classic and I hope they manufacture watches like this forever! As long you're happy with the smaller size, you can never go wrong with this watch, it's up there with the very best based on design, value, mass appeal and just utter retro coolness.

A timeless classic, the Casio a168 combines the rugged toughness and reliablility associated with the Casio pedigree, with a sleek stainless steel construction and clean digital display, to produce, in my opinion, the perfect budget watch. Any watch collection wouldn't be complete without a vintage casio digital. Wear it for any occasion, super versatile. The features are super intuitive and easy to use. The timekeeping is immaculate. It's just stupidly cheap for what you get. Solid, amazing quality, accurate, reliable, the battery is ridiculous, lasting 10 years plus before needing a replacement. Buy it for life, replace the battery once per decade, kind of a no brainer for the price. I know a guy with a watch collections worth over 30k, and his old digital Casio gets more wrist time than his Rolexs, Omegas or Cartiers. 5 stars all day.

Genuine item (not fake). The module is chrome effect - some kind of resin or plastic which is chromium-plated. Very reliable and great for telling the time, although the font/ numerals is rather small. As I get older, these seem much harder to read. Battery lasts about 10 years, I believe. Bracelet seems fine to me, and is very easy to adjust. As with all of these watches, however, they are not the size of the originals when they first came out. They are rather small, and the numbers are quite hard to read if you are above a certain age.

I've had a few Casio watches over the years and this one's been great great far. I bought this one around the end of October 2018 so coming up 3 years old at the time of writing this review. It looks nice and feels good enough on my wrist. The design hasn't changed much since it's release. I use this watch a fair ammount, its one of my 'general' watches I use and apart from a few scratches and marks, it's held up well. The waterproofing on the watch is good and has held up in the rain and whatnot. I will also add that the battery so far is still going strong although its supposed to last around 10 years. The timekeeping on the watch isn't bad, it's lost about 7 seconds of time over the last 6 months or so. The LCD is nice and clear to read too and the LED light is much better than the one on other models, I can see the time perfectly in the dark. I will say, the only criticisms I have are that it can get a little uncomfortable at times especially when the wrist strap catches the hairs on your arms and the clasp on mine has become a little dodgy over time. (It doesn't quite clasp as well anymore) Still, a great little watch for a good price! It has gone up in price since I bought it but not by a huge amount.

This replaced an identical watch which did me good service for the last ten years or so (eventually the posts holding the strap gave out through wear). This is a classic digital design. The alarm is useful when travelling, the face is easy to read even without the backlight, the stainless steel strap is infinitely more durable and better looking than a resin strap (and can be adjusted very precisely), it keeps the time well, the battery lasts almost indefinitely (I don't think I ever changed the battery in the previous one), and it's waterproof. I have taken the previous one snorkelling and never remove it in the shower etc. It's also cheap enough that you don't need to worry about losing or damaging it. I looked for a better one but decided I'd need to spend at least three times the price to get something that could match it in an analogue form (and maybe ten times or more), so what's the point! I don't think I have ever used the stopwatch function, but otherwise it's a masterpiece of functional design. Not too complicated, and all the features you really need. If you're not wedded to the idea of an analogue face, this is a great watch.

Leggerissimo al polso, comodo da indossare tutto il giorno e con un design che sta bene praticamente con tutto. La qualità costruttiva è ottima per il prezzo: cinturino comodo, display chiaro e la classica illuminazione Casio che dà subito quell’effetto rétro iconico. Leggero, comodissimo da indossare e super versatile Per quello che costa è difficile trovare di meglio. Semplice, affidabile e senza tempo. Consigliatissimo!

Wie bei allem im Leben ist es immer die Frage: Was bin ich bereit zu zahlen und was erwarte ich dafür? Casio versteht es diese Frage immer zur beiderseitigen Zufriedenheit zu beantworten. Ich suchte etwas Günstiges, etwas was bei Verlust zu verschmerzen ist. Also zuerst die F91W angesehen, aber die Beleuchtung gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Also sollte es die A168 sein. Wirklich eine sehr gute Displaybeleuchtung. Aber auch im Halbdunkel noch eine gute Ablesbarkeit und im Hellen sowieso. Die Funktionen sind die üblichen Basics: Uhrzeit, Tagesdatum, Alarm, Stoppuhr. Wäre noch ein Countdown Timer dabei, wäre ich komplett glücklich. Die Ganggenauigkeit, bei meinem Exemplar, ist wirklich gut. Wenn ich es schätzen müsste, würde ich sagen, die Uhr verliert im Monat circa 10 Sekunden. Wirklich ein Leichtgewicht, die Tastentöne und der Alarm relativ laut. Das Aussehen kommt Edel daher, obwohl das Gehäuse verchromtes Plastik ist und das Uhrenglas Acrylglas. Die Maße sind eher klein und sind für Menschen mit schmalen Handgelenken gedacht. Sehr anfällig für Kratzer und es zieht Fingerabdrücke an. Aber da kommt wieder der Preis ins Spiel. Fazit: Wer eine einfache, robuste Uhr mit langer Haltbarkeit für einen geringen Preis sucht, der ist hier genau Richtig.

■本体 初めてチプカシを買ってみたんですが、最初の印象は画像で見るよりかなりチープかなと感じましたが、すごいハマりそうです。 ホールはこれはこれでどこか未来感があるし、ベルトさえ違うものに変えたら色々楽しめそうです。チプカシ調べている内に色々欲しくなってしまって、最初はスタンダードっぽいこちらにしました。 A158やA164との大きな違いは背面のLEDライト？の部分だと思いますが、すごく見やすいです（画像）。 ただ、ライトが光る時間が短いというかボタンを押している間のみ光るという仕様になっています。7年寿命ということで節約してるのでしょうか。 ■サイズ調整 純正ベルトの調整はとても楽です。マイナスドライバーがあれば直ぐに変えられるので手軽で良かったです。

Thankfully, the replacement was sent quickly, and the new one arrived looking exactly how it should. As for the watch itself, it’s classic Casio in all the best ways. The A168WA has that timeless retro look that somehow works whether you’re going for “practical adult” or “1980s tech genius who knows the launch codes.” It’s lightweight, comfortable, easy to read, and has that simple, reliable Casio quality that has been making people feel oddly loyal to digital watches for decades. For the price, it’s a great deal. It looks good, works well, and has way more style than it has any right to at this price point. Once I got the proper replacement, I was really happy with it. Classic look, dependable quality, and affordable enough that you don’t have to treat it like a museum artifact.
