Can I put 1" weights on the chain or is it only working with Olympic weights? What is the maximum weight I can add?

You can always change the carabiner with a smaller one; or clamp it after you pass the chain through the weight hole. I have put up to 30 kilos on the belt without a problem but I'm an occasional user. I don't know if the belt can stand a more professional use (eg in a gym used by many athletes). Hope I helped.
