Cross 8514-2 Original Refill for Ballpoint Pen, Fine Point, Suitable for most Cross Ballpoint Pens, 2 Pack, Black

I was given a cross pen as a present but had never seen any similar pens in my local shops. I loved the weight and feel of the pen so was anxious that I would not be able to get a refill when it finally ran out of ink. I looked online using amazon and quickly came across this supplier/ the refills were reasonably priced and arrived within a matter of days of ordering, even n the run up to Christmas. They fitted the unusually slim cross design and worked first time! Very happy!

I needed refills for my Cross Pen & as I couldn't source any locally. I searched Amazon quickly found what requied & made a purchase. Simple and very satisfied with my purchase.

Not as fine as described. Think a bit nearer medium. Black not as dark as you think.

I do feel silly reviewing this product as it's one you need or just won't care about. You will only want these if you have a Cross Pen, and I wholeheartedly recommend getting one as they are much nicer to use and in the long run cheaper than burning through cheap Biros. The service is quite slow so book them in bulk at least a fortnight in advance of running out. (if you're down to your last two cartridge). But the product is exactly what you need if you have a Cross Ballpoint so if you need it grab it.

An OEM replacement refill. What's' not to like!

I have bought these once before, packaged as a genuine CROSS refill, made in China. They were poor the first time I bought them, but as no other refills seem to be available, other then those made in China, I bought them again. For the first 7 pages of an A5 diary the first refill was satisfactory, but then soon began to feel scratchy as the ink flow became intermittent and the black colour became grey to non-existent. Frequent shaking only provided temporary improvement. By page 14 it was useless so I started the second refill. I expect this will follow the same pattern, as did a previous purchase. Are CROSS refills made anywhere else, other than China? The quality is awful an offers very poor value. Based on this performance no one would consider buying a CROSS ballpoint pen! Many years ago they used to be manufactured in Ireland.

These refills are satisfactory. They are supposed to be 'fine' but I find them writing thicker than I expect fine to be. Not as fine pointed as the Parker refills.

Amazed to find that these are still being made! I got this set for someone who received a Cross pen received a very long time ago (like twenty or thirty years ago) which had run out. We didn't even know the name of the maker, but some web searching threw up this brand, and from there, I tracked down these refills. Happy to say they fit perfectly and will keep the pen working for at least another generation.
