Well made, good value for money, easy to install

Greta socket easy to install and well made ideal for charging my car would recommend

I purchased this as it is suitable for type 2 EV charging. Yes it does the job, however, the cable exit is in the bottom centre of the unit. The plug is not in the centre, it is off set to the left because of the switch. This is normal for all single outlets. This may be OK for standard 3 core cable but the thicker car charger cable does not allow the cover to be fully closed. If you push on the cover, it presses on the cable and levers the plug out of the socket sufficiently far to disconnect it from the supply. Mine is in a sheltered location and with the cover down, but not fully closed as I would prefer, is still usable. A larger cable outlet for EV cables would be better.

Hi quality outdoor socket, excellent weather protection. The socket is BS1363-2 compliant designed to withstand continuous 10amp load and suitable for EV charging.

This is described as suitable for slow EV charging but box did not say this and produced is scorched after first use.

This single version outdoor socket is way better than all of the random brandname chinese knockoffs that i've tried as with them you never know what you're getting. there are precut cutouts for your cable glands whereas the chinese ones sometimes are the kind that have to be drilled out with a holesaw. The rubber grommets and seals for the front plug and rear screw mounting holes fit snug whereas the chinese ones tend to fall right off. If i have one complaint it's that the tiny screw covers that hide the screw holes on the socket itself don't fit quite as snug. All round would buy again. EDIT: 19/05/2022. Just tried to buy another of these from a different seller and they sent me a knockoff. FYI, the original product comes in a BG electrical box with barcode and link to nexus industrials, the front cover is solid black and not translucent and the socket itself has an on/off indicator light.
