Review: Just What The Doctor Ordered - Bought for my daughter as school shoes, following the demise of her no-longer-red-but-dead shoes. I think these are possibly a slight degree above the expected size, but that is perfect for her feet. The shoes arrived next day with Prime and are the genuine article, which means the usual Dr Marten quality. Not only that, but they were as much as thirty quid cheaper than other places I looked online, never mind the high street shoe shops, who were even dearer still! Eleanor has worn them for a week now and she says they are the epitome of comfort, and the envy of many of her friends. You just know that they will last, too, because of the legendary durability of Docs. Let's hope her feet don't grow anymore for a while!

**Q: 2. is the size of this shoe similar to other martens' shoes? i have "dr martens aggy blucher shoe" with uk size 5.**
A: I found the sizes quite generous. My daughter usually wears 7.5 or 8, but bought size 7 in these which are plenty big enough.

**Q: 1. what is the difference between the "black", "black smooth", and  "Black (black)"?**
A: The black smooth are like a dull patent leather. You can't polish them like the normal plain black ones.

**Q: Bit confused about the sizing - some reviews say too large, some too small and some perfect. I  wear size 9 men's. Any advise on what size to get ?**
A: the size 9UK is (or should be) a perfect fit for a size 9UK foot.. these are classed as a unisex shoe so from size 3 to 8 DMs make them so they fit some women as well as men but size 9 is the turning point where they are a real 9UK mens for fit .. kind regards, Amanda

After reading a few reviews I was a bit apprehensive knowing that they are now made abroad, but decided to purchase them anyway.Ok they are'nt as well made as before and probably won't last years like the original Dr Martins, but too be honest they are still comfortable, although probably a bit stiff at first and needed a few days wearing in. I would advise that the sizes are large and I should of ordered the size down and this was pointed out in other reviews. On the whole still a great shoe and I would buy another pair, and for £30 at the amazon market place its a bargain
