Bilt Hamber BHDSW250 Double Speed-Wax 250ml

Ok so firstly let's set the scene: I recently bought a new car (16 plate) and as it's new the novelty of looking after it, is very much in full swing. It's just a family car (crossover type), not a super expensive sports car, but I feel better and happier driving a clean car. I'm in no way a professional car cleaner (I.e don't really know what I'm doing, I just like a shiny car!). I just clean it by hand with a bucket a sponge when the weathers nice! I bought this wax based on the positive reviews and it didn't disappoint. I found it extremely easy to apply. I had cleaned my car first and dried it, before using the applicator pad supplied to rub the wax on. What I found great about this wax, is that a little goes a long way and I do mean a little. I can see a single tub of wax lasting me years and years, probably longer than my ownership of the car itself! It's also very easy to remove, although if you've applied too much (which I had in some areas), then it can take more effort to buff off, but a bit of elbow grease and it generates a stunning level of glossy shine. The wax when dry, like most car waxes dries to a haze no matter what surface its on. However, I found it just as easy to buff off the wax on the plastic / rubber bumpers/trim and chrome surrounds as I did the metal body of the car. Which was a huge plus, as some waxes are a nightmare to remove from the plastic bits. The shine is great, the car even feels as glossy as it now looks! it's too early for me to comment on durability but I do feel that ease of use, the fact it can be buffed off of plastic and leave it looking great rather than marked and the cost vs how long it will last, have firmly made this my 'go to' wax. It also doesn't generate a large amount of 'dust' which can often plague a newly waxed car. Edit: a week later and dirt just doesn't stick. It's still extremely shiny and if I wipe my hand over any droplets of dirt for example, they just come off as if it were dust. Usually I'd have to scratch or rub the dirt off. Very impressed had lots of nice comments especially people thinking it's just been cleaned! It's impressed me and I would happily recommend it.

After restoring the paint on my car with Farecla G3 (see separate review) I wanted to protect it with a good quality wax. I've used lots of waxes in the past: Autoglym, Turtlewax etc and although I got some nice results with products like these, I found the bottle and spray waxes were not that durable and the paste waxes in tins were better, but harder to remove. I like the shine I got with Carnauba waxes and the fact that they're are a bit more natural and have less harsh chemicals, so decided to try Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax. The tinned product came with a foam sponge applicator and good quality micro-fibre cloth. It is a fairly hard wax but is easy to apply and you don't need much at all so coverage and economy is good. I left the product to cure on the car for a few minutes and then rubbed it off with a little bit of effort, but it's easier than other products which seem to set like concrete if you don't get them off the paint quickly enough. Then using the micro-fibre cloth I buffed the paint to a glossy smooth shine. The results are that in any light the car looks a lot better, but when the sun comes out (hopefully/sometimes) it really looks great now.. as in showroom/concours condition!...(imho) The product causes water to bead really well after rain etc and after a few washes is still going strong. The car is actually easy to clean now and hopefully the wax will protect the car over the summer months until I prep the car for winter with another coat of the wax in the autumn. The only condition I would put on this product is that it is a pure wax and not a polish so don't expect it to remove blemishes in the paint like a polish would, so it's obviously best to fix any underlying issues you might have before using this product. This was easy to apply and buff off. It takes a little time to do the whole car but it's worth the effort. It leaves a lovely smooth finish and nice shine. It's supposed to last for a long time, time will tell, I'm very happy with it so far.

I can’t comment on how long it lasts yet but it is very easy to use and comes with a good quality applicator and microfibre. It’s definitely left a lovely shine and the rain is running off it nicely. Feels nice and smooth. You don’t need a lot and so the tin will last a long time depending on how many washes it lasts for. I have used Bilt Hamber products before and loved the quality and so far this wax seems up to standard. Well worth the reasonable cost I say.

I've never used real car wax before but my cars paintwork was dull and none of the run of the mill polishes were giving the result i craved. They made the car look clean but i wanted a deeper shine and a finish that would repel water from the frequent rain for longer. I thought this seemed quite pricey but considering you get an applicator and large micro fibre cloth and you really don't need to use loads it is actually extremely good value. After washing the car with the Bilt Hamber shampoo and drying the car off i set about the task of waxing. The wax looks hard in the tin but using the applicator pad supplied it was quickly apparent that it was easy to load the applicator. Another reviewer on here advised that you do not wax entire panels at once as when the wax goes hazy it would be difficult to remove. This is VERY sound advice. As the reviewer suggested i did the bonnet in thirds and i did the doors in halves. The wings i did one at a time. I'm sure all this depends on your car model/size. I have a MKV Golf for reference. Once it was hazy the wax required a little more effort than a polish to remove but straight away i could see and feel an improvement over standard polishes. Washing/drying/waxing and finally polishing took me about 90 mins (including body coloured bumpers and mirrors). The paintwork has a much better depth of shine than i had previously achieved with other products and feels better too. There's plenty of wax left in the tin for future cleaning and the finish it gives is fantastic. Recommended

Wow! Talk about easy on easy off - I got the whole car done in under an hour and could probably do it quicker with practice. (I have a VW Golf Mk 7 with very light silver metallic paint). This is a really great carnuaba wax product, much better than my previous one (which was American and not at all cheap). This is really easy to apply and comes off a treat - I did not even raise a sweat. The finish is really good and there is a good rain "balling" effect. Even the tin is well designed - it has a great screw lid and you can easily put the top on with a half turn and but the tin down while you are working. For the beginner, this is the ideal product. As a seasoned detailer, if I want more depth to the shine, next time I will probably use Poor boys white diamond first and then apply Bilt Hamber as a top coat wax. I am also impressed at the frugality of it. Follow the instructions to the letter. They say use sparingly and that is what I did. Really pleased with the result. I will not be looking for another car wax for some time. Top Tip: Store flat - in hot weather the product will "flow" in the tin. There will also be a white wax surface layer. Mix it in a bit with your finger then use the wax as normal.

Bought this paste wax to replace the Demon Shine Spray Wax I had been using as a quick fix. Arrived very promptly. The paste wax comes with a sponge applicator, and a high quality microfibre cloth. Applying was extremely simple, first gave the cars a snowfoam and wash, with some small polish jobs. Once the cars were dry, used the Meguires waxing technique - wax a panel at a time, apply the applicator to the paste, give it 1 twist, make some lines across the panel, then in small circles work the wax onto the car by hand. Go around the car and you can clearly see where the wax has been applied as shown in the pictures. Got a tired arm from hand applying but its not too strenuous. Once applied to the whole car, I let it cure for a good 10+ minutes, before starting to buff off. Buffing using the microfibres cloth was really easy, not much elbow grease required at all. Came off in a noce clean shiny finish. The beading is clear and water sheets off the car cleanly. Longevity not properly tested but other reviews have said at least 2-3 months with just hosing down, but with a wash a week will last up to 6 months. 100% will buy again!

Read reviews about this. It was all singing and dancing. However, it can a little dry before it even goes on. You're having to deal with a lot of dust coming from it when applying it, then after it cures dealing with the dust. As for the gloss, reasonable enough. Would I buy it again, probably not. As honest as I can be in this review.

Por fin decidí probar esta cera después de años usando la gama Meguiars. Debo decir que esta cera da un salto de calidad substancial. Muy facil de aplicar y sacar brillo y deja el coche como recién salido del concesionario. Si que es verdad que debes trabajarlo pero nada excesivo. Veo en otras reseñas que os ha costado quitarlo pero mi conclusión es que estáis aplicando demasiado. Realmente se debe aplicar a la mínima expresión tal como indica la lata. Parece que no vaya a cubrir pero tened paciencia. Yo lo dejo 4 o 5 minutos y pulir con el trapo proporcionado y listo. He puesto 3 capas a lo largo de 7 días y al tacto y a la vista es impresionante. Le eché un cubo de agua de grifo y toda el agua le resbaló en segundos y una vez secado no quedaba rastro de marcas. Un diez para este producto. Es verdad que Meguiars es más rápido al aplicar pero no da el lustro que tendrás con esta cera. Aplicarlo a la sombra y con la carrocería bien lavada y paciencia.

I bought Bill Hamber Double Speed Wax on the recommendation of Stuart Fillingham on YouTube. I use it on my motorcycle and car. It has lasted very well and I'll be buying it again.

L'article est livré avec tout ce qu'il faut. Cire + applicateur + micro fibre Sur la voiture propre le produit s'applique simplement. Après 5 minutes de séchage, il faut essuyer la cire avec la micro fibre. Si vous avez la main lourde comme moi sur la quantité de cire, il faudra de l'huile de coude pour lustrer la carrosserie. Le résultat final est parfait, la carrosserie est brillante et incroyablement lisse au toucher. Les plastiques sur lesquels j'ai débordé sont bien revenus après frottage.
