Best kids toy ever
I got this set for my son 4 years ago when he was 2 and ever since it’s been the most played with toy in our house. I decided to review it now as we keep finding new uses for these magnets, now that he’s in year 1 we used them to explore 3D shapes and their nets and I can’t imagine a better learning aid for this task. My 2 year old is fascinated and plays with them daily, she recently discovered that they stick to the fridge which actually makes quite a good background for magnetic pictures. We were gifted another type of magnets at some point, the ones that it’s only the outline of the shape but they don’t get anywhere near in terms of sturdiness of structures and are much smaller than these ones. I also bought another set of non branded tiles, they seem very similar but one type of triangles don’t match so I would recommend sticking to one brand of tiles if someone want to expand their collection. Ours are now quite scratched but my kids haven’t managed to damage them over years of use even when dramatically collapsing their structures. The only negative is that some sides don’t always stick together evenly, which sometimes creates weak points in constructions but overall it’s a really best spent money when it comes to kids toys.

Pay more for great quality
Excellent set of blocks. Really strong magnets that let you build 3d constructions and lift parts to put on top of other parts without breaking. I bought a cheaper unbranded set before and had to return as the magnets didn't hold. Definitely worth paying more for quality.

Good quality toy
I researched many similar products before deciding on this one and I'm glad I did. It's sturdy, the magnets are strong and are safely enclosed so no risk of swallowing. It has many different geometric shapes so it's educational as well as entertaining for kids and grown-ups. I was surprised to see my 3 year old, who doesn't have the attention span to play with puzzles, to join the play. My 7 year old loved it too so I definitely recommend.

Strong Magnets !!
Firstly, I would like to discuss the Main Point of this review which focusses on the strength of the magnets, I cant tell you how much this is important as I have had many product where the magnets are so weak that it’s very difficult o build a good structure of anything. The Magnets within each panel are strong and sturdy which makes it a pleasure to play with a build with. My son has enjoyed many hours of constructing houses and little garages with this for his cars etc , I would like to point out that this is my second purchase to expand the size of construction on my Sons Request ! The build quality of this product is superb which having a 2 year old which loves to come in like God Zilla and destroy whichever buildings my other son creates means these panels take a lot of whack yes still standing strong. They nice and easy to clean up and disinfect especially when you get food stuck on them and I would say the only downside to the blocks is that the magnets are not set direct onto the edges of the panels which means when you are building they don’t sit completely flat , they are almost off centre this doesn’t mean you cant build it just means the higher you the less sturdy your contract becomes but again that’s only if you are trying to build a sky scraper which I don’t this this is made for !

I am in love with this product!
I am seriously in love with these 3D magnetic building blocks - they are simply amazing. Although not cheap I went for it anyway and I am so thankful I did. These building blocks have been a hit from Santa for my 3.5 year old girl. We have played with them for hours and hours building all sorts of constructions (houses / cars / farms / towers tall and short etc etc) and my daughter then puts her animals or playmobil people inside for play. Extremely sturdy excellent quality product (hence the price). I also bought the large base plate to build on top of (I highly recommend this additional purchase). I love the 'ideas' book that comes with it as my daughter copies the designs from it. Everyone who has visited us over Christmas has played with this and has left my house vowing to buy it for their own children / or recommend to a friend. You won't regret purchasing this item. Only problem is I now want to buy more of it so I can build even bigger and better constructions (my other half and I are quite competitive with each other! ha ha. It's really educational too - identifying colours / shapes and learning about magnetism and construction. Top Class Product!!!

Best creative construction toy for years
Playmags are truly brilliant. Bought this for Xmas and now ordered my third set. Did my research and they are strong and robust. Suitable for all ages, the whole family enjoyed getting down on the floor with them. Easy to tidy away too. I am a retired primary school teacher and very switched on to how children play and learn. My grandchildren played with these for hours. They used them 3 dimensionally to build towers and houses. They used them 2 dimensionally to make shapes on floors and windows. What was lovely to see was the way they played with them imaginatively, chatting about what they were doing, making up stories and adventures, developing language and creativity. I am going to introduce other toys to integrate with the Playmags, plastic animals, cars playmobil figures etc for more inspiration.

Let me first say I am not getting compensated in any way for this review. I am writing this because I had such a hard time deciding what to by because of all the mixed reviews for the various brands. I hope this will help some parents with their decision. I currently have 4 different sets of magnet tile toys: - 32 piece set Shape Mags (Purchased Dec 2016) - 2 Shape Mags 12X12 stabilizers .(Purchased March 2017) - 100 + 18 piece set Playmags .(Purchased March 2017) - 8 piece polygons Magna-Tiles .(Purchased March 2017) Our first set was the 32 piece Shape Mags. I put it on the kids' (ages 4 and 2) Christmas wish list. They loved it! Even after 3 months, they still loved playing with it, when most other Christmas presents were forgotten. The only problem was the 32 piece set is too small for 2 kids to share. After lots of research, I decided to buy the other 3 sets at the same time. Playmags had mixed reviews so I opened the set and examined the pieces before showing them to the kids. They were great! The plastic is sturdy and the magnets are strong. Maybe they fixed the problems that got them the negative reviews. Price Playmags 100 piece set + 18 click-ins (not magnetic) sells for $69.99 Shape Mags 120 piece set, including 16 fences and 2 people figures sells for $69.99 Magna-Tiles 100 piece set sells for $119.99 Magnet Strength Playmags, wins, hands down. One of the reviews said the magnets are too strong and caused pinching. Even my 2-year-old didn't have any problems with that. Magna-Tiles and Shape Mags have similar magnet strengths. Both are fine for building tall structures. Playmags just hold together better. Color Playmags and Shape Mags have the same vibrant colors. Magna-Tiles colors are a bit muted. I prefer the more vibrant colors, but it's just my opinion. Compatibility The sets mix and fit together perfectly. Conclusion 1st place: Playmags The price is comparable to Shape Mags. The magnets are stronger, which makes for sturdier structures. I prefer the more vibrant colors. 2nd place: Shape Mags The magnets are not as strong, but still strong enough to make whatever your child imagines. The stabilizers are a great addition. I highly recommend them to complete any set. If you really want the originals and you're willing to pay the extra $50 for a set of 100 pieces, then by all means, buy the Magna-Tiles. Other than that, I see no reason to pay more. Shape Mags are of the same quality and magnet strength. Playmags' magnets are significantly stronger. I plan to keep all 4 sets. If I buy another set for a gift, I would buy Playmags.
