Good tool
This to me is a good useful tool. In terms of its usefulness, it’s a multi tool, it’s compatible with most other multi tools of which there are many so my choice of the Ryobi was based on the fact that I have other items in the one+plus range and thus have ‘tied in’ to that system. I’m not a full time professional in a trade any more so the usage I have is more DIY. It gets used every couple of weeks for cutting, usually in awkward areas like corners where no other power saw will go. I’ve used it hard on cutting floorboards and also on metal brackets and nails. I should point out this is the second unit I’ve had. The first one failed suddenly, it worked one day and not the next. The led light worked but the motor didn’t spin. I returned it to Amazon and happily accepted a direct replacement which has worked fine since. If I was still a full time tradesman I’d probably still buy it but with the largest battery. A couple of my colleagues at work who are field engineers also use the Ryobi kit and like it I have the smallest capacity batteries and the lowest output charger. The batteries take about 4 hours to fully charge from flat and I’d guess they give me about a full half hour’s hard use which doesn’t sound long but in practice I find the longest I’m using it at a single time is probably about 5 minutes. I’d buy it again

2020 Updated review - I do not recommend
The tool itself is great, it’s helped in cutting skirting, cutting out an access panel at the back of a kitchen cupboard. However I do have concerns around reliability. I’m currently on my second unit after the first one just stopped working for no reason at all, no light, no movement, just completely dead. Amazon replaced the unit without fuss as it was within the first month. Hopefully this second unit fairs better, although having read other similar reviews I do have my doubts. I’m a big fan of ryobi tools, but there does appear to be issues with this one sadly. UPDATE June 2020: my replacement tool has since stopped working. Same issue as with the first one, the tool is completely dead. I can count on one hand the number of times it’s been used. I like ryobi tools, but I seriously wouldn’t recommend buying this one.

Excellent multi tool
I already had the Bosch 10.8v multi tool but wanted something with a bit more oomph. This doesn't disappoint, with a li-ion battery (not supplied) it's very powerful and has a variety of uses. Some more detail: it's 29cm tall (without a battery) and the right-angled head is 8.5cm to the tool bracket. It has a locking power switch which is a nice touch, although the lock is easily moved so I'd still remove the battery whilst changing tools. The whole head can be removed and rotated 360 degrees to the body of the tool, in 90 degree increments, making it easier to access restricted areas without the battery pack getting in the way. The adaptor is easy to fit and caters for Bosch or Dremel tools, with a 'B' and 'D' either side respectively to make it easy to know which to use. Tools are secured with a nut using a supplied hex key. It's a shame there's no on-board storage for the hex key as the whole thing doesn't come with a case, although the hex key sticks nicely to the magnetic plate on the battery compartment when storing. For info, the Bosch hex key also fits, but not as well as the supplied Ryobi one. Supplied tools are a 2.9cm rectangular multi-saw (for wood, plastic and metal), an 8.7cm round multi-saw and a 7cm sander attachment with some hook and loop sanding sheets (4x80 grit and 2 x120 grit). The sander attachment is about 2cm smaller than the Bosch version, so there's no cross-usage of those, but otherwise I find the Bosch tools work fine. There are a variety of other saw sizes available.

Good but not great
Good - battery powered means no cables, so much easier to move around. Bad - one blade snapped in half during 5 minutes of use. Machine itself is fine, maybe a little heavy. Overall it does the intended job, just be careful with the blade.

Not fit for purpose!!
This is the 2nd machine!! This machine has only been used once, and seems to overheat, and stops working, this is very frustrating when I’m trying to get the job done, I’m currently trying to remove grout from my bathroom tiles. Very disappointed with this product, it seems to be an inherent fault. I’m trying to find out how to contact the seller, this machine is either faulty or not fit for purpose.

Should have got one of these YEARS ago.
This has got to be the best tool I've bought this year.. I first saw it on a youtube video for glazing renovation and noticed how useful it looked. I had no idea how many uses this would turn out to have.. It lets you make cuts that simply would not be possible by any other means.. I've been renovating my sash windows and have used this to do dozens of things that just wouldnt have been possible without it. Cutting neat 3mm x 30mm ventilation slots in the window frames. Cutting rectangular cube shaped sections of wood out of the frames to replace the rotten portions. Slicing an access hole in the window frames to get the sash weights out to replace them. Separating the windows from the frames where they'd been painted in. Taking the glued edges off the parting beads. ETC. ETC, If this broke... I'd immediately replace it. Very accurate, And far safer and easier to manipulate considering how fast it cuts through things.. Highly recommend getting the Saxton 13 blade case set. Also the 3Ah unbranded battery.

Wheres the cutting power???
I have lots of the Ryobi tools, circ saw, impact/ wrench driver, SDS, combi drill, hoover, jigsaw. They are great tools (well jigsaw could be better), stand up to trade use and are very well priced. Well decided to get this, what a disappointment. Coming from a cheapy homebase 240v I expected this to at least match it. Not even close. Rubbish cutting power,(using 4ah battery) i.e plunge cuts of thin pine skirting boards in those tricky spots when creating openings. Seems to lock up/give up, not impressed. Blade is blunt from less than a few hours use on plastic and skirting, it only just handled a few100mm cuts in plasterboard haha! Come on Ryobi you can do better! Make a version 2 with quick release and a brushless motor, or something more powerful and state atleast 4ah battery. Cant really return as im hooked into the oneplus system. Ohwell.

Good multi tool
This product is great however it is one of the only Ryobi products which gave up on me so had to buy a new one but as it was on deal I can't complain much. Helped lots to remove an old kitchen but expected it to last a bit longer. Still an amazing bit of kit specialty when cutting plastic waste pipes and holes in soft wood and plaster board.

Great and efficient tool that will make your life easier
Yes, this tool doesn't come with a battery, but I like that it helps reduce the cost when you don't need it; Ryobi batteries are cross functional between other tools. I never worked with a tool like this before, but it was very easy to handle and get used to. I mainly bought this to cut-out small portions of door frames while laying down new vinyl bathroom flooring... it made the whole process painless and quick.
