Can you replace the battery? If not, why do they bother to tell you the size of batter that it takes?

You can replace the batteries.The type of batteries you would need are 3V lithium coin cell AG13 or LR44 and you would need 3 of these.You will need a very small diameter Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two tiny screws which hold the two halves of the case together.You would be able to buy a set of such screwdrivers cheaply from a DIY store or even a 'Pound Shop'.

How do you change batteries can't get it to work

You have to open it up carefully undoing the two small screws. There is 1 CR2032 battery and 3 other small penlight style batteries. It might only be one type that is flat. Be careful as the switch cover falls out when you take it apart and its pretty tricky to prise out the CR2032

Because it is digital, how accurate is this gauge? A guy from AA helped me with a gauge earlier, but of course he had a manual one and not the digital

It is dead on. tried and tested with a tyre dealer's guages and readings were exactly the same. l then compared readings from 2 known good dial guages and again 2.0 bar was 2.0 bar.
