Very good for the size
January 2021 edit: Back again! Paired with the DeWalt 1/4in adapter (DT7508QZ ...though other brands are available...), this now doubles up as a perfectly capable impact screwdriver. Just tackled building some workbenches, driving in 100mm woodscrews, with no sweat. The adaptor introduces a small amount of play (in that, by the time you get to the screwdriver tip end, there is a small amount of wobble) compared to if you had a 1/4in head to start with - in practice this means taking an extra half second to stabilise the screw to start it off straight. For the hobbyist/keen DIYer, this £10-15 quid-odd adapter has unlocked yet another useful dimension for jobs around the home.November 2020 edit: I did indeed pick up this impact's bigger brother, the DCF899, and it still looks brand new such is the lack of use it's getting - I reach for this one first, every time. Using the two side by side, this is so much more nimble, lightweight and thus easy to use. I wholeheartedly stand by the assertion below that this is 90% of the impact wrench I'll ever need. Love it. The only concern (and it's a very small one) is eventual wear on the brushed motor. The 899 is brushless and noticeably smoother and quieter (relating to the motor) in operation.Original review: I'm a DIY user for general automotive use and have been very impressed with this, the smaller of the 1/2in drive impacts that DeWalt offers. Have used in anger with a 4ah battery on a range of automotive jobs and it tackled areas I didnt think it would touch e.g. corroded suspension components. For some very stubborn areas I have had to crack the breaker bar out to get it started, but on surprisingly few occasions.I did intend to buy the larger brother, the 899, and while I still do intend to pick one up (for really tough areas like engine crank/wheel bearings etc), I'm glad I chose this one first as it is compact, easy to handle and covers 90% of the work requirement for car repair/servicing. A great all rounder.

Invaluable tool for the DIY mechanic
Bought this mainly to remove wheel nuts, which, at 120nm, it should be able to do easily, and was a little disappointed when it struggled. However, it really came into its own when I broke a spring on my car. It successfully removed brake caliper bolts, 32mm hub nut, top mount bolts and shock pinch bolt. And because its small, it fits in tight spaces where I can't get a long bar. Since then, I've used it to change a wheel bearing and hub on a mini, and remove the front end of same for a new radiator. I'm sure it would have more power if I changed my 1.5 mah battery to a 5 mah, but so far, its been invaluable and has saved me a lot of time and probably several skinned knuckles!

difficult to take socket off the anvil.
Great tool, with plenty of power in a small package, great for working up on a height where you don't have to lug a large wrench up to fasten and unfasten bolts. Great for that kind of work. The only downside is the sockets stick on the anvil cause the ballbearing goes too deep into the whole socket and makes it hard to remove.Other than that, it's an excellent tool for the price.

Spot on
Amazing price and does what needs to be done, if need more torque then might need to go full size and not compact
