This stuff is just packed loosely in the bag so you just tip it out and away you go. We use it for our tortoise and because it is the least dusty of all the substrates we have used I don't even have to spray it with water to avoid the dust. Hope this helps. **Q: How often do I have to change this substrate?** A: 4-6months **Q: Van i use it with isopods in viv** A: The coconut fibre is really dusty so personally I would use an organic top soil instead **Q: Is this suitible for a African Pygmy hedgehog for a dig area?** A: No idea best answer is to ask google ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good stuff. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 January 2026* Awesome stuff. This is dry coconut fibre substrate that will hold humidity well if you add water to it, but it comes as a dry substrate which is perfect for desert dwelling reptiles or tarantulas. Good price for the size. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A godsend *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 5 August 2026* What a blessing this was to find!!After days and days of soaking cococoir blocks and then trying to dry it in time stumbling on this has been amazing.
