I bought Kloo to learn to speak Spanish and it's exceeded all my expectations. It's bright and engaging with easy to follow instructions and can be played on your own and with friends. I particularly liked the fact you have the phonetic spelling underneath the word, because this really helps you achieve good pronunciation.When I've played the game with friends, they have been amazed at how much Spanish they could learn in such a fun way, without getting bogged down in grammar. For me, it provided the chance to create long and sometimes silly sentences that have really given me a solid understanding of vocabulary and verbs, so that I feel confident about speaking.I'm a fluent French speaker, and have now got a set of the French game because I think it's such an effective way to learn. I plan to use it with my students in a French club because I think it will be a great way to hook them into languages in a creative and purposeful way.Kloo is an absolutely fantastic game that is fun and educational, a winning combination!

I bought this for a friend's son for Christmas as he has just started learning Spanish at school and my friend is trying to learn a bit to help him along. I already have the full game (Race to Madrid) myself and have bought the French full game (Race to Paris) for friends, who described it as the best present ever! I am a teacher of French, German and Spanish, and I think the Kloo series is an excellent way for all ages to acquire vocabulary and to learn to make sentences. We have played the Spanish game as a family, where knowledge of Spanish ranges from virtually nothing through beginners to fairly fluent, and it is great fun and accessible for everyone. I was really pleased to find that I could just buy one pack of cards (two decks) as I couldn't afford to buy the whole game as a present for a friend's child, but they can always add on another pack of cards and the board if they want to, which is really flexible. I have recommended these games to everyone I know who is learning or teaching languages. What would be really good, though, would be if we could have something similar at a higher level as well.

A great way to learn Spanish. Very enjoyable.

I have bought the French and Spanish versions for my kids aged 12 and 10 as an alternative to family favourites like Uno - The games are clever but simple to play and there is more than one game in the pack much more on the website. The cards, and box are good quality and the instructions are simple it's perfect to play round a table, in an airport. My son particularly like the highly competitive penalty shoot out where you get to test the others. We all learnt something the game helped me to remember my language from school, improve my son's languages and got my daughter interested in Spanish. I think buying more than one pack would add to the game's longevity particularly when playing the penalty shoot out. We're getting stuck into the Spanish one before we go to Spain next year - more fun than phrase books!!

As a teacher of modern European languages for over 20 years, I was excited to find this game, but very disappointed when it arrived. The instructions are complicated and the vocabulary, particularly the verbs, of limited usefulness to learners of Spanish. This game was undoubtedly created with good intention, but its promise of allowing learners to create thousands of sentences, although statistically true, is misleading, given the poor range of vocabulary in the pack.

I was expecting a large board game, however, its just as good.

This is a really good game ! It is quick and easy to learn , but really effective at teaching vocab ! I bought it after my daughter started Spanish at school . She loved playing it , and even during the first game she was picking up new vocab quickly . The cards are really straightforward to play with and have a pronunciation guide for each word , which is really handy !! The Kloo website has extra game ideas , and also the option of printing out new cards in different tenses . I would highly recommend the game !

This is a fun little game that builds up your confidence in the language the more you play it. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend who's just started to learn. So, he had a rough grasp of the basics, I have a rusty Spanish A Level, and we played with family members who had no Spanish knowledge at all - and we all really enjoyed ourselves and found it easy to pick up the rules. I'd definitely recommend KLOO games as an active and engaging learning tool which can be a welcome break from textbooks or online tutorials.

We just received our game and we all love it. The kids (ages 9 and 11) both watched a video on YouTube to get them familiar with the rules of the game. From that, they were able to play right away. They have been taking some Spanish classes but are still uncomfortable speaking Spanish aloud. This game has them learning and speaking without them realizing they are learning; they are too busy having fun. My husband is a native Spanish speaker and I am also learning Spanish. It is great fun for all of us. I particularly like that there are decks for different tenses and that they are separated. Having those will let us utilize the game for much longer while also progressing in our learning. Having tried basically all the language learning programs out there, I highly recommend KLOO! While other programs can teach copious amounts of vocabulary and verb conjugation, KLOO gets you moving with sentence formation and speaking aloud in a very natural way.

This is an amazing game. My students love it and they ask to play it all the time.I ended up buying the whole game from their website. It is really fantastic.

I enjoy playing this game because I get the chance to practice a variety of vocabulary. Card quality is good and card box is sturdy. I would buy again. Fun for people wanting a casual way to practice Spanish.

While this is a really fun concept and still a great addition to our learning collection, it’s not exactly as beginner friendly as you’re lead to believe. We still plan to play and google words as needed so hopefully over the course of time, words and use will be picked up.

Kloo gave my students a very concrete form to learn how to write sentences in Spanish. It suddenly made sense to them. After that, I was able to give them lists of nouns, verbs, prepositional phrases and etc. and they were able to create new sentences, then paragraphs. It works well for both visual and kinetic learners. I'm going to continue using it in my classroom and will introduce it to the students much earlier than what I did last semester. I'm hoping to add the second deck to the classroom and take the students even farther. I recommend this product to other language teachers.
