Spigen Rugged Armor Nexus 6P Case with Resilient Shock Absorption and Carbon Fiber Design for Nexus 6P 2015 - Black

This case adds a superb grip to the beautifully crafted Nexus 6P device that slips out of your hand like butter on hot knife! See photos for a better idea of the cover. This is a flexible case not a hard one and is super easy to put onto the device. The colour is deep and the carbon fibre design on either ends of the case on the back adds just that much to the looks of the case. It doesn't affect the functionality of the case. The case has air pockets on the inside of the cover in the four corners by means of tiny depressions in the case itself. The way this works is for small falls that land the phone on its edge, these pockets will in theory absorb some of that impact. The cover latches onto the phone by protruding a couple of millimetres over the sides onto the front. The touch screen however is completely uncovered. If you are concerned about how it will live with a screen protector, from experience I can say that any plastic film protectors will not be a problem, however if you are looking for more protection with a glass protector, then I have currently applied PThink® Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector to my phone and it works perfectly with this cover. But honestly, any glass protector will be okay as long as it has curved corners and leaves at least 1 mm on each side. Once applied, personally I didn't feel that it added any unmanageable bulk to the phone. The build quality is quite sturdy and is a snug fit onto the phone itself. There are cutouts in all the appropriate places - Audio jack, Fingerprint sensor, Camera, and Charging port. As for the camera, the cover provides an adequately cut oval hole that exposes the Flash, Laser focus too, but not the whole glass. The rest is covered in that carbon fibre pattern. For the Power and Volume buttons, the cover has its own impressions that depress with a nice feedback. Although having vowed to never drop my phone again, I have a very high degree of confidence in this cover. This is my unbiased review for this cover and I have no association with both the products I speak about.

This is a good quality item. It's not particularly cheap, infact it's the most I've ever paid for a phone case, I'm actually not sure it's worth as much as it costs, but the quality is apparent and in the context of the value of the phone many would consider it worth it. It's a snug fit, cut outs are perfectly aligned and it looks quite smart actually, the phone suits it well. I considered slimmer products but this cover doesn't seem to add much at all to the thickness and perhaps offers a little more protection so I'm happy with the choice overall. Unlike other cases I've encountered, it doesn't seem to make it any harder to press the phone operating buttons and the matte finish provides a little extra grip to an otherwise rather slippery phone. Can't comment on drop protection thus far (thankfully) but it does inspire me with far more confidence, I dread to think of the outcome of dropping a naked phone this heavy and large. I can't see many folk regretting the purchase of this item.

I bought this case and I was not really expecting much due to the low price, however I have used Spigen cases in the past and the build quality and protection has always been excellent. The case arrived sooner than expected and I must say that amazon delivered this by courier even though I had only paid for standard Royal mail (thanks amazon). Now this case is a really great fit, cut outs are all perfect and aligned correctly, holds my Nexus 6P nice and snug and it looks great and feels premium as well. I am using a glass screen protector and my current case was causing the edges of the screen protector to lift at the bottom even though I had fitted it correctly, this case has resolved that issue. so I am very happy indeed :) This case makes the phone look like it is in stealth mode, it just looks really cool and macho...Highly recommend it!

The case is very high quality and seems to fit the phone well. All ports are easily and properly accessible and all buttons on the phone work as they should. One small gripe is that the power button is not textured to allow you to easily differentiate it from the volume buttons like you can without the case. There is a small lip on the front of the case to slightly raise the phone off a desk if it is placed face down. The faux carbon fibre detailing and the soft touch feel of the case is nice, however it is a little slippery in the hand. I am unable to use my phone in one hand due to its size so this isn't really a major issue for me. Overall a good phone case for a reasonable price.

I nearly been using this case a year now and my phone still looks as good as the day I got it. The finish on the Nexus 6P is one that would be very prone to showing up any marks and scratches but this case has protected it better than any other case I have used. The case provides much needed grip for the very slippery phone which I believe has helped with preventing my phone from being damaged. The matte finish and the carbon fibre style bands on the top and bottom of the case give it a very clean feel that does not look tacky. The only down side of the case is that it adds an extra few millimeters onto the phones already large size but this is to be expected if you want any decent protection for a phone. Overall, if you are looking at getting a Nexus 6P or already have one then I would recommend this case for the best protection.

Great case! Doesn't cover the laser auto focus. Is ultra high quality fit and doesn't add a lot of bulk. Very minimalistic like the Android OS the Nexus comes with. Has a soft, almost velvety feeling. I do have larger hands and found the naked feel of the phone to be unnerving as it always felt as if it were to slip out of my grip. With this rugged yet slim armor I don't feel that way at all anymore. The case raises the phone on the front to protect the glass when face down, and the fingerprint reader and camera glass when you have the back down on a surface. I was worried about the feel of the buttons being covered and it feeling odd since using it with no case for over a month. No problems with the feeling though! I actually quite like it.The carbon fibre accents have a appropriate, slightly bumpy texture even though the pictures make it appear to be glossy smooth. I also like the little bands near the corner of the case as it adds a esthetically pleasing look and compliments the design. The fingerprint reader is odd having such a deep hole, but if you like deep holes than you shouldn't have much of an issue. I would have liked the Nexus logo to have been visible on the back by a clear window or cutout, but really more of a personal preference than a deal breaker. Summary: for the price, quality, and fit it is one of the best cases you can buy right now.

Hace escasos días que disfruto de esta espectacular funda. Desde que descubrí la marca Spigen que utilizo sus productos por una sencilla razón. Calidad/precio sin inigualables. he utilizado fundas para xperia z2 Spigen y ahora le he comprado esta a mi nexus 6p. Intentaré hacer un análisis lo mas correcto posible. La funda consta de dos tipos de materiales, no se exactamente como se llama el principal pero el secundario es fibra de carbono. Ambos tienen un tacto muy agradable y no desliza lo mas mínimo. Algo a lo que le sumo mucha importancia. La funda encaja a la perfección por lo que no quedan holguras ni nada parecido. Se nota que esta hecha al milímetro. Otro punto fuerte a destacar es que no es la típica funda dura que cuesta sacar. Esta es de una dureza media , se puede doblar hasta cierto punto ya que el material es flexible. Imagino que esto respecto a los golpes amortiguara bastante, pero prefiero no probarlo. Otro punto a favor que tiene es que la zona del reconocimiento dactilar esta hecha muy bien, y el agujero no tiene el corte recto sino que tiene una cierta inclinación, de forma que es fácil poner el dedo, esto ultimo puede parecer una tontería pero la funda que tenia hasta ahora ( un regalo ) tenia el corte recto y muchas veces costaba que me detectara la huella por no poder poner el dedo bien en según que posiciones. De momento no le he visto ningún punto negativo. Puesto que el precio yo creo que es muy adecuado por lo que esta funda es. De hecho si tuviera que comprar esta funda a otra marca con mas prestigio probablemente cobrarían el doble. Así que yo la recomiendo al 100% es una compra de éxito asegurado.

UPDATE 12/29/15: My 6P slipped out of my coat pocket this morning and fell a good five feet onto a hard tile floor. The corner of the Rugged Armor case took the full impact and left me very impressed! Not a scratch or crack to be seen! --- The Spigen Rugged Armor for the Nexus 6P is an overall excellent case that has been very intelligently designed and very competitively priced. It provides much needed grip to an otherwise very slippery phone (a con of thin, metal-unibody hardware), while not adding much bulk at all. All ports are easily accessible with generous cutouts for over-sized connectors, camera, sensors, and the power/volume rocker. The aforementioned buttons remain very tactile and easy to press as well. The material of the case, a very dense TPU-like rubber, is very very comfortable. It isn't rubbery enough to pick up lint and dust, or get stuck in your pocket, but isn't so hard that it nullifies drop protection. It somehow retains the "premium" feel of the phone. Regarding drop protection - I have dropped the phone a few times with no visible damage to either the case or phone. In addition, the front side of the case provides ample protection for the screen when placed face down on a surface. I have a glass screen protector on my 6P, and the case's sides are raised enough to keep even the additional glass of the screen protector out of direct contact with tabletops. From a design standpoint, I am very impressed that Spigen was able to replicate a faux-carbon fiber material on the back top/bottom so cleanly. The pattern seems to be a part of the TPU mold, and not just a glued-in piece. It adds some welcome contrast to the back of the phone without being gaudy. Similarly, the "visor" section of the case provides excellent protection for the camera glass. When I first got my 6P, I was very nervous to place it on it's back, simply because there isn't anything to protect the Gorilla Glass visor from scratches or cracks. Not anymore! However, there are a few cons I'd like to note. Firstly, while I have praised the TPU material for being adequately grippy in the hand, once the phone is placed on a table, it likes to move around a bit. When swiping on the lock screen, for example, I have to either stabilize the phone with my other hand or use a very soft touch on the screen. This is obviously a sacrifice in comparison to the alternative of a much more rubberized material, so I find this to be an acceptable flaw. Secondly, I would have liked to see some texture/differentiation in material on the power and volume rocker. Given that Huawei went to the trouble of knurling the power button, it seems a shame to nullify their efforts with identically textured buttons on the case. Since Spigen was able to accomplish the faux-carbon fiber texture on the back, it seems entirely realistic to request something similar for the buttons. Finally, I would argue that the cutout for the fingerprint sensor reduces it's accuracy somewhat. Since you essentially have to insert your finger into an indentation in the case, you are removing a substantial amount of finger surface area for the sensor to read. On several occasions, I've been unable to successfully unlock the phone without heavily pressing my finger into the indentation. In summary, I'd highly recommend this case to anyone who owns a 6P. At $13, it's practically all the protection you could want in a very sleek package. Si vede subito che è un prodotto di qualità. L’ho appena ricevuta e ne sono subito entusiasta. Sembra quasi lavorata alle macchine utensili da quanto è ben rifinita. E’ fatta di gomma rigida (non in plastica e nemmeno in silicone). Rispetto alle cover in semplice silicone sottile morbide (come quelle da 3 euro su ebay che ho comprato – cinesissime) è tutto un altro pianeta. Questa una volta inserito il telefono (che fa da “struttura”) diventa di marmo. Anche i lunghi bordi laterali diventano rigidi e non si aprono, quindi non entra sporcizia fra cover e telefono. Rimane quindi ben solida al telefono offrendo un’ottima protezione. I tasti del Nexus sono purtroppo molto morbidi già di suo, quindi bastava prenderlo in mano e involontariamente qualche tasto laterale si premeva sempre. Questa custodia offre una copertura dei tasti leggermente rigida; quel tanto che basta da poter afferrare il telefono senza premere involontariamente i tasti. I tasti però rimangono comunque facilmente premibili senza dover fare una pressione esagerata. Ottimo!! Infine l’aspetto estetico è notevole. Certo, il Nexus è bello da vedere “nudo” col il bordino metallico e il retro bianco, ma questa cover è altrettanto bella e offre un’estetica di “lusso”. Non è esageratamente spessa, quindi non pare di avere un mattone in mano, però è più spessa delle cover in silicone , soprattutto sugli spigoli. Rimane inoltre un buon millimetro sporgente sopra il vetro frontale, così da poter lasciare il telefono a faccia in giù. Non crea minimamente problemi all’inserimento dello spinotto USB. E se proprio vogliamo trovargli un difetto, la parte di gomma perimetrale sembra leggermente “tagliente” al tatto; questo a causa del design un po’ “spigoluto”, ma niente di che. Consigliata! Soprattutto per il prezzo.

Hallo, ich hatte für mein mittlerweile leicht angestaubtes Google Nexus 5 ( 2013 ) Handy, eine Hülle von diesem Hersteller erworben. Es hat sich dabei um eine "Spigen Slim Armor" Hülle gehandelt, bestehend aus einem TPU Layer welcher zusätzlich mit einer Kunststoffschale verstärkt wurde. Die Hülle hat mir jahrelang sehr gute Dienste geleistet und weist auch heute noch, keine Abnutzungserscheinungen auf. Da ich nun ein stolzer Besitzer eines Google Nexus 6P bin, habe ich mich ebenfalls nach einer vergleichbaren Alternative umgeschaut und wurde dabei auf dieses Modell aufmerksam. Zunächst war ich ein wenig skeptisch, ob eine Hülle mit nur einem Layer, einen vergleichbaren Schutz bieten könnte und habe den Hersteller kontaktiert. Mir wurde dabei sehr schnell und kompetent geholfen, dafür möchte ich mich auch sehr herzlich bedanken. Im Vergleich zu der Hülle für das Google Nexus 5 ( 2013 ), wurde die Hülle für das Google Nexus 6P in einer weniger aufwendigen Verpackung aus Pappe angeboten. Das ist erfreulich weil diese auch leichter recycelt werden kann und somit auch gutfür die Umwelt ist. Um günstigere Fälschungen zu vermeiden, enthält die Verpackung auch einen Code um die Echtheit des Artikels, online prüfen zu können. Die Verarbeitung ist hervorragend und wirkt wie aus einem Guß. Alle Kanten und Rundungen sind dabei perfekt ausgeführt, es sind weder Grate noch sonstige Maschinenspuren von der Herstellung zu erkennen. Das Design der Hülle ist schlicht und eher unauffälig weil z.B. der Nexus Schriftzug verdeckt wird. Die Ausschnitte für die Kamera etc. sind passgenau, ohne sichtbare Abweichungen. Die Verzierungen in Carbon Optik wirken weder billig, noch sehr auffällig. Da sind die Geschmäcker unterschiedlich. Das Design der Hülle hat eine starke Ähnlichkeit mit dem Aufbau des Handies, dadurch fällt die Hülle auch optisch nicht sofort auf, insbesondere wenn man über eine dunkle Ausführung des Gerätes verfügt. Eine optisch dezentere, unscheinbarere Hülle kann evtl. auch Diebe verunsichern weil somit nicht sofort ersichtlich ist, um was für ein Gerät es sich dabei handelt. Das Display wird durch leicht erhöhte Ränder vor einem direkten Aufprall geschützt, dadurch wird das Risiko eines Glasbruchs deutlich reduziert. Die Tasten verfügen über einen ausgezeichneten Druckpunkt, es ist wenig Kraft erforderlich um diese zu betätigen. TPU ( Thermoplastisches Polyurethan ) ist mit Silikon vergleichbar, jedoch deutlich widerstandsfähiger und zäher. Dadurch, dass auch der Rücken der Hülle etwas dicker ist, wird wohl in der Tat eine zusätzliche Verstärkung mit einer weiteren Kunststoffplatte, nicht unbedingt benötigt. Wichtig zu erwähnen wäre auch die Struktur der Hülle mit den eingebauten "Kissen" welche Stöße effizient dämpfen. Das Gerät wird weiterhin kompakt bleiben, im Vergleich zu deutlich dickeren Hüllen. Im Gegensatz zum blanken Gerät, wirkt die Hülle griffiger und weniger rutschig. Insgesamt bin ich mit dieser Hülle sehr zufrieden und kann diese auch bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen. Ich hoffe, dass ich euch mit meiner Rezension helfen konnte, einen genaueren Eindruck zu gewinnen ;)
