they are EXCELLENT. Got them for bird watching as my vision ...
I read a mixture of reviews of this product (it had over 5000 reviews and almost all were good) but was a bit worried about the very few very negative reviews. My fears were unfounded: they are EXCELLENT. Got them for bird watching as my vision has changed a lot of late and seeing middle distance is now a problem. I focused them according to the instructions (one eye at the time) and they work beautifully. Turns out that what I thought were sparrows were beautiful long-tailed tits ! Depsite the fact that my left eye vision is considerably worse than the right, and that I have, well there is not polite way to say this, a big head, which has caused me difficulties with binoculars in the past as I think my eyes are wider apart than some peoples, these work perfectly. They are quite large to hold and have some weight to them but not exceptionally heavy. They come with lense cups (for both ends) and a carry case. Chuffed to bits, and if I were you? Ignore the few negative reviews, all products seem to get a few, if they are massively at odds with the majority, don't let it put you off!

I cancelled my return when I realised that....
A friend recommended these binoculars to me as being fantastic quality for the price. However, on receipt of them it was obvious that something was very wrong as the two sides were so misaligned that there was massive double vision. It was so bad it hurt my eyes to look through them. However, as I was packing the binoculars away for return to Amazon, I happened to notice that one of the object lens housings was not screwed in properly and in fact it tuned out to be cross threaded. After unscrewing the housing and simply screwing it back on properly the double vision vanished and I was amazed at just how clear and sharp the image was. So basically, these are fantastic binoculars but be aware of possible poor assembly and the easy fix. I have noticed one or two poor reviews mentioning that the 'prisms were misaligned' and I wouldn't be surprised if the problem they were experiencing was nothing to do with the prisms, just shoddy assembly. I would recommend these to anyone as they really are good but just be aware of the above ;)

Optics (prism) offset I'm afraid
Made the decision to buy these as a spare pair through other reviews and taken that into account I maybe unfortunately got a bad pair on this occasion. The optical alignment was so far out on these I was literally seeing double. Unfortunately I have seen this before in some cheaper Chinese branded binoculars as some manufacturers can't be bothered to align the prisms and barrels correctly before cementing them in to place . Was alot of sprew on the right objective lense barrel so that could also be off setting the alignment but I didn't want to mess with them. I would like to say it could be a one off and unfortunately I have had to return them within 5 mins of them being delivered. However on a positive note they where otherwise very clear and the magnification and focal distance was as described. Seller was great and dispatch the item fast and the return process was great. Just as shame the optics was off.

Brilliant binoculars, excellent for astronomy and nature gazing.
Brilliant binoculars for the price. Bought for my sons birthday and although I wanted something relatively decent for his nature watching and moon gazing, I was conscious that as a starter pair, they may be outgrown quickly. How wrong I was. When moon gazing they are better on a tripod as they are a little heavy for him to hold still for longer periods but otherwise they're brilliant. The moon is crystal clear, you can see all the terrain/ shapes etc. The one tiny tiny niggle for me, is that the lens caps don't stay on at all, which when trying to protect the lens seems a little odd? However, that's a very minute issue and one which can be overlooked when paying such a good price for what appears to be an exceptional quality pair of binoculars.

Very happy
I personally know nothing about binoculars. They were for my son for stargazing and using in conjunction with a telescope. His tutor recommended them and uses them himself. He’s a well respected gent in his field of expertise, so he knows what he’s talking about.I’m sure he has others too, but recommend these to us as an entry level pair and would cover all our needs. And so far so good.I’ve no idea why you’d need to upgrade them to anything else. If they are suitable for star gazing, I think that’s a good recommendation of their ability. My only complaint is one lens cap falls off easily. Must warm it up with a hairdryer and mould it whilst warm to a tighter fit. So, it’s not a big issue.Overall happy

Mine were broken when I received them
Mine came with one of the lenses unscrewed. When I screwed it back on I found that the thread was stripped so it didn't screw back on properly. Unfortunately I am working long hours so didn't have the time to send it back. That said, I've managed to get the lense back on and if I hold it, it doesn't fall off and they work fine. I figured I got what I paid for. In my opinion they do bring things 10x closer and the vision is clear. They are lightweight so are very easy to use. They come with simple and very easy instructions which are useful to those who haven't used binoculars before. The two stars reflect that they were broke when I received mine. Maybe if I returned them I might have got a pair that were not broken and I might have given more stars....
