Creating Comfort offer variants of the standard bed wedge, this has been developed initially as a bespoke item for one of our customers who requested a lower incline to elevate the upper torso. Although relief is achieved with all our wedges ,for some the lower incline and larger surface area make for a more comfortable nights sleep particularly for those with a larger body frame. Irrespective of the incline as this is personal choice, what’s important is that your head, shoulders and torso are supported at the correct elevation to alleviate symptoms of acid reflux, heartburn, respiratory conditions, sinusitis, hiatus hernia and other related problems. Elevation allows gravity to work well keeping stomach acid and food down, drains sinuses and opens airways.Elevation of the head only on pillows actually exacerbates many sleep problems, particularly acid reflux, as your body is inclined to bend in the middle, which allows acid to go part way up the esophagus and get trapped which causes extreme discomfort. The single most popular recommendation from medical professionals is to elevate the upper torso to alleviate symptoms, which in turn may reduce the necessity to take prescribed medications. Multi functional, the bed wedge can be used at the bottom of the bed to raise and support the legs encouraging good circulation, relieving symptoms of varicose veins, swollen ankles, phlebitis and oedema. For many, this simple natural remedy may be all that is required to manage such conditions very well. Excellent to manage Gerd during pregnancy. Our bed wedge is constructed from high density CM) foam which has a laminated layer of 'eggcrate' design Memory Foam to increase airflow , fitted with a luxury coloured poly cotton zip off cover. Dimensions Approximately 76cm x 66cm x cream soft damask cover 20cm profiling to 5cm at the lowest point.

An expensive instrument of torture!
Buyer beware! Before reading all the glowing reports, you should know that this item is not covered by Amazon's return policy so if you need to return it, - a) it will cost you at least £12 and b) it's sold by the company via Amazon and they consider it to be bedding and will only give you a refund if it's not been used( so how do you try it out?) so if it's not right for you, you could be £72 out of pocket if you return it! Having said that, the company did refund my money as I had wrapped it in a sheet before trying it. I think items like this could have SEE SELLERS PAGE clearly written next to BUY NOW button so that you're pre warned. I read all the feedback and most people seemed very happy with it except one or two who said it was impossible to sleep on. So I ignored them and went with the majority and ordered this to help my acid reflux. I sleep on my back, just like the woman in the photo, and I have a firm mattress so I thought it would be fine. The egg box structure to keep the wedge firm is SO solid, it feels as if it's made of thin strips of metal cutting into your back all night so I got no sleep. The second night I tried it again, but this time with a very good 3" thick mattress topper I keep for guests( brilliant from Green Fibres) thinking this would solve the problem. But the slats just kept digging in to me even through this, and I may as well put the topper on a cement floor for the good it did. So again another sleepless night. The third night, I tried slipping the wedge under my very thick mattress but next morning I still felt as if a herd of Buffaloes had stampeded across my back. I rarely have problems sleeping so was very disappointed with this useless product( useles for me that is). Another drawback is that it's very long and you need to position the thin edge of the wedge under your waist. This meant I was so far down the bed, I could not reach the light switch by the bed head to turn the light off. I'm 5.5" so not tall and I guess it might work if you're 6.4" perhaps. The idea is good and it obviously works for some people, but even after a warm relaxing bath, my back ached for several days after sleeping ( or rather not sleeping!) on the 'rack' ! I now use a seat cushion from an old bamboo armchair and it works a treat and cost nothing. I was not impressed having to pay the £12 return, which is the cheapest I could find that would 'track the parcel ' as they suggested, as I felt the item was not fit for use.

Useful Aid for Silent Reflux
I bought this after advice from my Doctor to "raise the head of my bed a few inches" following my diagnosis of silent reflux. Not really practical with a divan bed and also not great for one's partner, so decided to try this as a cheaper alternative to getting an adjustable bed (although its really not cheap for what it is). Its also useful as you can put it in the car and use it when away from home. Was delivered ok but it was lucky I was in as the packaging is dreadful - transparent blue plastic, making it obvious what it is. Strong chemical smell at first as others have noted, but goes away fairly quickly. Takes quite some getting used to, you tend to slide down the bed which somewhat reduces the effect, particularly if you turn onto your side in your sleep. I also found it made my neck and shoulders ache. Persisted with it for about a fortnight, then gave it up - I think the only real solution is to raise the head of the bed or get an adjustable bed.

Comfort and value
I bought one of these bed wedges 8 years ago. I use it in bed at night to prevent acid reflux. It's not so high that you slide down it but it is high enough to be effective. I've also used it as a leg rest by day when I've needed to elevate a leg. It's now getting some indentations and doesn't bounce back in the same way it once did, so I have ordered the same product again to replace it. I think 8 years almost continual use makes this excellent value.

Consider this product carefully before purchasing
As already noted by other purchasers there is an exceedingly strong chemical smell to this product. I left it in the garden in the sun for the best part of 4-5 days (according to weather!) and there is still a lingering smell which pervades the bedroom. The smell has made me nauseous and headachy but, in all fairness, this is less frequent now. The support given is good, though I find that I tend to slide down the bed and this puts pressure on the base of my spine. This has been reduced by placing a small pillow, or rolled up towel, under my knees. Hope this information helps others considering purchasing a back support - it is not cheap, but does the job, although with the above provisos.

This one has a nice, gentle incline
Having successfully tried a wedge to relieve my reflux, I thought I would buy one for myself. This one has a nice, gentle incline, but that has the disadvantage of making it rather too long for comfort. The worst problem is that the cover is made of very fine nylon and is not really suitable for sleeping on, nor is it a very hygienic protection for the foam underneath. I tried fitting it under the bottom sheet of the bed, but the sheet wasn't big enough to tuck in round it. Altogether pretty unsuccessful for me.

Wedge foam pillow
Initially I though that the pillow was too tall and too long but now after 2 weeks I am used to it. More importantly I have not had a single bout of reflux in that time.Due to the strong smell from the foam which became worse after a couple of days I very nearly returned it. Washing the cover helped and the smell has now gone.I don't feel the memory foam can do very much as it is so thin but, it may well be why the pillow remains cool. There is just one possible amendment I would suggest and that is to reduce narrow end of the wedge which would make it more comfortable and less of a 'step' to lie against.
